Vanillla ELS cars no edited skins

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Are there any non-ELS converted to ELS for Police Cruiser, Police Patrol, Noose Cruiser, Noose Patriot, Police Buffalo, Police Stinger, Police Bike, Noose Stockade, Police Stockade?

I don't want the edited skins, just want to keep the vanilla skins.

I only found 3 of the vanillas so far.

I think he just wants the vanilla cars with ELS, while keeping the default skin.

What I mean is find an equivalent model that has ELS, and put the skin off of the Already vanilla model and put it on the ELS model - So you take a different car with ELS but you put the Vanilla skin on it. So the livery is the same, but the car now has els.

Here's the problem with that: Vanilla cars aren't actually templated the way modded cars are. The only elements of the livery that show up in the texture are text and the LCPD patch; things like "where things go on the car", "what areas of the car have the same textures as what other areas", "what geometric elements are on the livery", etc. are all embedded in the model's UV mapping, and cannot be changed by a texture mod. Because of this, modded cars generally use full-car textures, which allow other people to make nice textures for them.

For that reason, you're unlikely to find cars optimized for ELS that use the vanilla texture mappings. People do make ELS cars with skins designed to match the vanilla ones (well, almost - they often have skins which are somewhat more NYPD-ish than the vanilla ones are, but it looks close enough in practice), but the vanilla skins themselves aren't supported by almost any car mod, because that would require the mod to then *not* support any other textures.

You might be able to get someone to make you a vanilla car with ELS, but you probably won't just find a modded car to use the actual vanilla textures.

I never knew that about Vanilla cars - Well you learn something new every day. And Like cp702 said there are similar models, sometimes even better ones yet similar that are designed for ELS. I mean why not just pick up an NYPD vehicle pack or something? Do you really want the Vanilla skin, I dont see the point but I mean its your decision.

  Anyway -

    Best Regards,

Hehe well, I've been playing GTA IV for such a long time now maybe two years? I get curious at random things, yes I modded shitton of vehicles, character outfits, etc. many times but that was in the past.

I'm a GTA IV player who likes to keep their vanilla.

I would really want the vanilla skin but I highly doubt I won't really want it in a few weeks. But to give you a heads up, I'm sure theres alot of people like me out there who would want it and likely would want to go back to it in the future incase i get bored, so I guess just publish the download.
