GTA4 Crashes with 0.95 RC1 and ELS

Featured Replies

Hey guys, how are you doing, so I have just done a fresh reinstall of GTA4, updated to 1.0.7.0, and install 0.95. When I get on to play, it runs perfect, no mods installed yet. Still with no mods installed, I put in ELS, and the second I walk into the room to chose my character, when it begins to load, I have an error I can't read because the screen is black, and then the game crashes. I do not understand why its doing this. I will be happy to help in any way with the information I can gather. Thanks in advance for the help.

Don't make text white! There is a white theme.

I've heard that replacing the dsound.dll file with the xlive.dll solves some of the crash issues. Does anyone know where to get the xlive.dll file by itself?

well yes it was from me . you can easily get the xlive.dll from installing LCPDFR . at final step you can choose which you want . mark on xlive and unmark dsound . Finish

You have 2gb of ram. GTA is probably crashing due to that.

Maybe, but he also has Windows XP, which greatly reduces the RAM used by Windows, so he may be able to get away with it.

Look, I never had this problem before with 0.91, I could run ELS, and have my very few modded cars, I don't understand why its being like this. And as for running it with xlive.dll, all my cars disappeared, and they won't spawn, any ideas?
