    Great Video Man!

  • I think it is something with the FCC. I think I saw on a video that the codes have to be short to allow others to talk on the radio. Also most people don't know what the codes mean...each DEPT they ch

Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office does.

Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office does.

And this is the Liberty City Police Department. Closest you could do is put out a 10-13.

Awesome video, but no department uses 11-99 anymore. They just say officer needs help/assistance and or Officer Down.

As a California Highway Patrol explorer i know for a fact the chp uses 11-99, and the audio in the video is from the riverside county sheriffs so maybe its a state to state thing but there are plenty of 11-99 calls here in California.

And for the chp 10-13 is advise road or weather conditions

Okay, but it's the LCPD, not CHP or anything else.. In TLAD, the voices often use 10-13 for backup which looks like they are indeed using the NYPD ten-signals.

As Olanov said, the LCPD uses a 10-code system similar/or the same as the NYPD http://www.n2nov.net/nypdcodes.html

10-codes does not have a strict set of rules of what one thing can mean. Most often, departments use different types of 10-codes where something, like 10-13, can mean something different.

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

You're missing the point, Olenav. Dark Angel said "nobody uses 11-99 anymore."  That is false.

We know this is LCPD, obviously, but that not what we're talking about, is it..

Who's Olenav?

On another note, not everyone does know, and the video was titled 11-99. Never hurts to educate people! Speaking of educating, my nickname is Olanov.

From what my chief said (ex FBI special agent) and multiple officers said most departments are turning away from the 10 and 11 codes. Mainly because of communication problems. So if your chp ever needs military police or FBI help there pretty much going to be screwed. Because neither of those use 10 or 11 codes. Also if they ever need assitance from other departments well there pretty much screwed then..
