Hey all,

 

I've been looking in to a Altis Life Server ( To buy etc ) but my experience with installing the mods in it is total zero.
I know that there are basic Life mods out there like the one from Tonic etc.

Question is, how do I install it, how does the mySQL work?

 

 

I`m not expecting anybody to have knowledge of it, just wondering if there are people that have experience in that section,
Also i`m not looking for putting in Tahoe's and CVPI's etc, well not yet lets get the basic stuff running.

If people are interested in teaching me something, I would take that with both hands.

Also for those that don't know it, reply if you enjoy arma III altis life, and i`ll see if we can improve the server regarding your wishes.

So far we'r aiming for a server with mature roleplay ( Hard to find in arma III ) and some decent game action. 

No more ( No offence ) 13 year old cops that are yelling and ignoring the law.

Okay first off, if you have no idea how to even put mods in or anything then your not going to be able to run a mod. If a script stops working how are you going to fix it? If there is a update and takes something out of the mod how are you going to fix that?

 

How are you going to deal with hackers?

 

How are you going to make sure 13 year olds arent cops?

 

Unless you have a lot of previous experience with running servers and being admins I wouldnt recommend it. Plus arma 3 servers for a good 32 slot cost up to $120. 

 

Here is what I would do. I would spend some time at a server and apply to be a admin, get experience in the area. 

 

But if you still want to do it there are hundreds of videos on youtube on how to do it.

I don't think that there are going to be members here that can help you on that subject. Most members here are modelers that do GTAIV. makes scripts and MDT and so on. here on this site we all play different games like BF3 and MW3 and so on and what not. You know that if you want to get proper support go to there forums page and read or create an thread on there main site.

I've been running several game servers ( admin etc ) regarding DayZ Standalone, COD servers back in the days. Ran a few communities for Emergency 4.

Not real big things, I`m also not doing this alone.

Only the surface of putting the scripts in is the question.

I can get an 50 slot server, for $20. Which is worth it to see how it runs.

But its going to take some setting up. I have set up the police department for a few arma community's here is what your going to need.

Then hire people before you launch get them trained so you have a trained police department before the launch the server. 

 

Then you will need a wiki of all the offenses and fines. (Sort of like a state statue book) Obviously murder will be the biggest offence. 

 

Need department policy's

 

The community's I helped set up  at are the biggest life servers for arma (high end ones)

 

Those are CITYLIFERPG and LIFEPROJECTRPG

No joke, I`m just in need of how to get the server to distrubute thats all.

All of the higher ranking officers are already set, so we got a decent community ( it is already a community of 30+ people so thats good )

The law book and stuff, are being worked on and are almost finished.

Jobs are finished.

Website layout is almost done.

Those things are the ones that I always do first before starting up an community.

 

So besides the server, most of the things are already done :)

Found a couple that are willing to help out. Though I feel that certain people here have interest in the game.

 

So far I set up the community website, a tiny bit though I need to do some more work.

I kinda like the idea, and wish you good luck...but why aren't 13 year olds allowed? You know, not everyone who is under your age is stupid or immature.

 

Ahh, by the way, I get the idea 13 year olds will not be allowed from several posts above, I may be incorrect about the "rule", though.

 

Oh, by the way, at the end of the "Server/General Rules" topic on your website, you forgot about rule #3 in the NewLifeRule sub-topic kinda thingy, it goes straight from 2 to 4.

 

Because most of the 13th year old kids don't take it that serious that they go deep in roleplaying, but rather sit and whine about things that you do as an officer.

Of course you have those kind of people in every age group, but most of the time we experienced it in that age area,plus the fact that we don't say we don't allow them in the server, but they aren't going in cop or rebel positions. Because neither of the chiefs of those divisions are accepting them. That means, that they have to stick civilian, which they probably won't like.
