News to me! (Helicopter Patrols)

Featured Replies

This was surprising to me, so I thought Id share. I saw on youtube many "helicopter patrols" where people would actually land and arrest people (Turns out, not realistic). So I thought Id give it a go. I was surprised to accept a callout, fly over to the incident (first was a drug deal) and got close enough to activate it. All of a sudden, my spotlight turned on and shined on one of the suspects. I thought this was neat, so I figured Id try to call back up. Sure enough, they showed up and arrested the suspects, with the exception of one who fled in a vehicle. Once the suspects at the scene were arrested, again without my intervention, I took off towards the fleeing Cavalcade. Units pursued in their usual bang em up fashion, and eventually took the suspy into custody. I only had to land and shoot a suspect whose arrest was glitching once in an hour of gameplay. I've been playing LCPDFR for a long time now, and I have no idea how long this was a thing, but I thought Id share my experience.

Some tips Ive realized:

- Stay with suspects, or they wont be arrested

- Sometimes you need to be a stunt pilot in order to activate an incident (flying low in between buildings)

- Fly relatively low when patrolling and if you come across a fleeing suspy, whether on foot or in car, you can assist in that pursuit

- Use well modelled vehicles, as if parts disappear when you're far away, it really destroys immersion. (two guys chasing suspys in a floating chair is rather funny however)

Any other tips, I'm all ears! This has added a whole new level to my LCPDFR experience. Again, kudos to the devs for all the hard work and amazing community support!
