hey guys I just upgraded my pc with the help o my friend from a phone(never touched the inside of a pc) and my graphics card is causing trouble. I installed a geforce gtx 660 and a corsair cx500 and now gta 4 does load. I get fatal error texp something and all my other games lag like hell. I uninstalled all the old drivers and downloaded the one that came with the box and I don't think my pc even recognizes it. What did I do wrong? I have windows 8.1 which I heard causes problems, but I didn't know that until it downlaoded by itself when I restarted my computer.

8.1 really shouldn't cause these issues, as it generally works fine with games (coming from someone who uses 8.1 daily for games).

It's possible that the physical installation got messed up somewhere. You should ensure that the card is properly seated and that the PCIe power cable is attached correctly.

Umm I not rly sure. My computer was kinda not acknowledging the new gpu was there but it was listed in system devices and I couldn't figure out how to disable onbaord graphics. But after 6 or 7 hours of reinstaliing it and booting in safe mode it started to work.
