are your car modded ? if they are, that is where the problem is.

So basically LCPDFR is incapable of operating with modded vehicles?

No, GTA is incapable of operating with car mods. We've been saying this for months and no one seems to get it yet. Some are 8 times larger than normal cars. The game runs out of allotted memory.

If you have more questions, Dorrian, please make your own thread.

Is anyone else seeing something odd with this thread.

I see thread started by Dorrianmurray211, Nov 16 2011 07:47 PM but the first post is not his. Infact the first post was written several hours before the thread was made.

Looks like 2 threads have combined or is it just bugging out at my end ?

Confused....

Maybe a result of filling the lost data when the server went down ?

Also is the forum on GMT ? I am seeing new threads pop up that are 3 min's ahead of GMT :) small thing but could be relavent.

edit: Actually as for the time difference, pretty certain that was the case, but you don't really wanna trust me and numbers without someone else noticing it too. so don't waste time looking into that unless anyone else notices it. (I have an issue at times with the way I see numerals)

Still seeing odd format of posts in this thread though my end.

Try this:

Go to the FirstResponse.ini in the Scripts folder, and find something that is similar to LoadAllModels=False. Turn false to true, and then try to play.

Thank you for the help, I will definitely try that out. If you have any other tips, please let me know.

I don't believe GTA is incapable of operating car mods. Having a larger model size which tolls more memory isn't proof of incapability, it sounds like more of an excuse to me. Honestly, nobody here is experiencing game crashes due to modded vehicles... They experience game crashes when they use LCPDFR along with the modded vehicles.

Don't get me wrong, I can see where the technical requirements to run such mods is increased, but it doesn't render the game incompatible.

I am not trying to come off in a negative manner, so don't take it that way. But to solve a problem we must first acknowledge that there is a problem, and not turn your backs on the ones who experience these problems. I joined this website because you guys have an amazing idea for a mod, it makes GTA IV worth playing again... But I am seeing a very strange support atmosphere here which I believe may be prolonging the ability to resolve problems.

LCPDFR makes the problem more obvious because you are a) in a police car more b) have police backup. The polygon increase with most models is over 300%! That is shoddy modelling for a computer game, real-time rendering has limits and so do game engines, neither have been thought about when these models were made, any decent modeller sticks to a polygon budget if needed. If you computer is powerful enough and you are lucky, you may not have issues.

You are using the WRONG right theme!

Yeah, I am understanding where you are coming from, but maybe there is a way to truncate this issue slightly. For instance, the configuration tip gnat326 provided for a me a few replies up seems to work like a charm although I understand it will load everything into memory. Maybe the developers could focus on that feature and possibly improve it to where instead of enabling all vehicles, users can select which vehicles he/she wants to pre-load, thus allocating only needed vehicles into memory. That might fix many problems and it's just one idea.
