LCPDFR 1.0a Crash on Entering Station

Featured Replies

So I've recently redownloaded LCPDFR after I saw the new version had come out, new copy of GTA and everything, very few mods:

Blood Texture Tweak

Gun Models and Sounds

That's about it in terms of mods.

So I do the old ALT+P to start it up (I'm at the first apartment as I started a new game), then I run down the street to the PD on the corner in Hove Beach. I walk into the yellow marker, then the loading screen comes up. After about 3 seconds, it crashes (black background with the old 'GTA 4 has stopped working' error).

In the LCPDFR.log it has all the information on the crash, I have no idea what it means though or how to fix it which is why I came to you lovely people.

Thanks!

EDIT: I'm using xliveless and have now tested this in both' Play(Offline)' mode and just regular 'Play' mode (when RGSC appears) and the same thing happens.

Many thanks. I noticed in your log that you have the 'freval' error. The freval error was fixed for some users by doing this: Open up your LCPDFR.ini, look under "Main", it should look something like this by default:

[Main]
AdditionalCopCarModels=
SuspectTransporterModels=POLICE;POLICE2;PSTOCKADE;
VehicleTrunkWeapons=Shotgun_Baretta;
AllTextMode=False
AmbientScenariosMaximum=2
AmbientScenariosMultiplier=250
DepartmentName=Liberty City Police Department
DepartmentShortName=LCPD
FirstStart=True
UsingPoliceStationMod=False

Now, add to the bottom of that part

PreloadAllModels=True
The "Main" part should now look like this:

[Main]
AdditionalCopCarModels=
SuspectTransporterModels=POLICE;POLICE2;PSTOCKADE;
VehicleTrunkWeapons=Shotgun_Baretta;
AllTextMode=False
AmbientScenariosMaximum=2
AmbientScenariosMultiplier=250
DepartmentName=Liberty City Police Department
DepartmentShortName=LCPD
FirstStart=True
UsingPoliceStationMod=False
PreloadAllModels=True

Also, make sure to run the game as administrator. Running the game as administrator: Go to the GTA IV folder, right click on GTAIV.exe, Properties, Compatibility and select 'Run this program as administrator', do the same exact thing to the LaunchGTAIV.exe.

For good measures, please install these

Hmm, thanks for the suggestion.

I tried both adding that line and running as admin at the same time but crashed at the same point.

It seems it's not specific to the Hove Beach station either, for testing I tried to enter another station across town and the same thing happened.

I see.

Are you using any ped modifications?

Not that I know of, pretty sure the only modifications I'm using besides LCPDFR are graphical (apart from xliveless).

Does it work without those graphic mods?

I've got a fresh copy of all of the files so I'll go ahead and do a complete fresh install without any mods apart from LCPDFR and see if it fixes it.

Might take a while so forgive me if I don't post a reply for about 20 minutes or so. :) Thanks for all the help so far!

Do you have the hotfix installed?

 Oooooh. I thought the hotfix message that popped up was just a bug of it thinking I had an old version.

I'll try installing it now before I do a fresh install.

The hotfix seems to have worked. Stupid me didn't read the original thread properly.

Sorry for wasting your time D: Thanks so much for the help though. Good karma for you :D
