Driver charged with car crash into police cars

Featured Replies

Jan 27, 2014(accident). Jan 28, 2014(charged).
James Burton Weaver, 47, has been charged with two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm after allegedly driving his green SUV into the Surrey RCMP parking lot at high speed Monday afternoon and smashing into two police cruisers.

A female RCMP corporal was on her computer sitting in her police cruiser when it was struck by the green SUV. Her car was pushed into an adjacent car, pinning another police officer between the two vehicles.
Both officers were treated and released from hospital, one suffering minor leg injuries and the other, a torn rotator cuff.

Surrey RCMP Sergeant Dale Carr says it looks like the SUV was moving fast.
"Based on just looking at the crash, we can say that there was some significant speed involved. It takes a lot force, a lot of impact to move two vehicles the significant amount of space that they were moved."

I was just thinking what Empire stated!

People burned RCMP Cruisers in New Brunswick when that protest was on.. the RCMP's car have definitely taken a beating in the last year, people just don't understand the cost in outfitting these cars.. & Police get discounts on their equipment, a Federal Signal Legend is actually cheaper then a Whelen Liberty, but this is what I worked out just the outside of the cars  ****Note the taxes included are Nova Scotia's 15% HST Tax****

Federal Signal Legend  $1400.00+tax  $1610.00 after tax

Setina Pushbar: $300.00+tax  $345.00 after tax

2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Package $29,000 ****NEW****+tax   $33,350 after tax

6 Whelen Vertex $600.00+tax  $690.00 after tax

Whelen Inner Edges $800.00+tax  $920.00 after tax

Whelen IONs X2 (Mirror Lights) $200.00+tax    $230.00 after tax

Grill Lights X2 $200.00 +tax   $230.00 after tax

Wig Wag System $150.00+tax    $172.50 after tax

Siren $300.00 +tax  $345.00 after tax

$5000.00-$6000.00 JUST for labour on 1 of these cars..

That's $43,895.50 JUST for one fucking car.. note that isn't decaling, computer, gun rack, partitioner, cage for the back windows, radios that's JUST for lights and the car itself and that's for a CVPI not an FPI or the new Explorer, or Tahoe, Savanna vans, undercover vehicles etc, these aren't the exact prices on the gear, but close to it, just the console itself inside I paid $212.92 after taxes with NOTHING in it.

Sorry, but stuff like this pisses me right off, knowing that taxpayers have to buy more cars for them, plus their specs vary from province to province.
