Error in Script "LCPDFR_Loader.Loader"

Featured Replies

I have been running LCPDFR without problems for the past few days. But today after I downloaded a few mods off of here. The vDH Police Helper and vDH Medical Examiner Mod, along with the Policing Script 2.4.2. I started the game and as soon as it loaded, I got the error that's in the title "Error in Script "LCPDFR_Loader.Loader". Then a popup came up in the corner saying that LCPDFR failed to initialize and it closed. I went to the log to see if it was anything that I could understand, but it wasn't. So I'll put that below for people that actually understand this. Thanks in advance for any help that anyone is able to provide.  :smile:

Also, I have tried to just restart the game and reinstall/repair LCPDFR, but both of those did not work.

Yes, it is a legal copy. It's been working perfectly fine until I installed the mods I listed above. Aside from a few crashes that I was already expecting.

Alright. Let's try this: Open up your LCPDFR.ini, look under "Main", it should look something like this:

[Main]
AdditionalCopCarModels=
SuspectTransporterModels=POLICE;POLICE2;PSTOCKADE;
VehicleTrunkWeapons=Shotgun_Baretta;
AllTextMode=False
AmbientScenariosMaximum=2
AmbientScenariosMultiplier=250
DepartmentName=Liberty City Police Department
DepartmentShortName=LCPD
FirstStart=True
UsingPoliceStationMod=False

Now, add to the bottom of that part

PreLoadAllModels=True
The "Main" part should now look like this:

[Main]
AdditionalCopCarModels=
SuspectTransporterModels=POLICE;POLICE2;PSTOCKADE;
VehicleTrunkWeapons=Shotgun_Baretta;
AllTextMode=False
AmbientScenariosMaximum=2
AmbientScenariosMultiplier=250
DepartmentName=Liberty City Police Department
DepartmentShortName=LCPD
FirstStart=True
UsingPoliceStationMod=False
PreLoadAllModels=True

  • 10 months later...

After searching and working on it diligently, I found the fix.

Each time I would start during load up I would get the script error "ERROR IN SCRIPT LOADER.LOADER!" and LCPDFR wouldn't start.  No where could I find a fix.  So let mine be the first.

Okay, I just fixed mine and here's what I did.  First completely turn off and disable any anti-virus program.  LCPDFR as well as several other scripts use a deep rooted Trogen and your Anti Birus software will attack it each and every time.  This will cause the loader not to load.  Then I went to my GTAIV main folder and right clicked the "LaunchGTAIV".  Go to properties and then compatibility.  Select Run this program in compatibility mode with Windows 7.  Then at the bottom select Run as Administrator check box.  Start your game and you should be working smoothly.  Worked perfectly for me right after that.  If I really had to guess, I think it is the Anti-Virus program mixed with the Administrator option.  Give it a shot.
