Keeping one light on steady burn?

Hey guys,

 

I'm trying to recreate an Irvine Police Department light bar (CA, not KY). California state law requires on all emergency vehicles that at least 1 red light is on steady burn. Irvine PD only has one (while LAPD has two on steady burn and most of the other department), but in Irvine, we don't have Christmas tree light bars, however, our cars are lit fairly. Anyway, I'm trying to make the extra_3 (the one in the middle, not on the outer edge) the one on steady burn, like Irvine has it. How would I go about doing this? Pic:

that's easy, just take that extra out of the other extras and name to something else. and that's it. you have your steady burn light

Okay, so, I take the extra_3_L0 out of the extra_3 hierarchy, and just rename it to something random? Pengi told me to put it in extra_5....

 

if you put it in extra_5 your els will still activate it. If you want it to burn permanently take the extra_3 out, rename it and place it somewhere else, just not back in the extras.

I want it to be burning when the ELS is activated. At the moment, it's burning permanently, which I don't want....

Ok what you will have to do is make a copy of that extra and put one in extra5 and one in extra6. so when you press the els it will stay lit.

With ELS 7, you can just make it a primary light, then set it to be the only light that turns on when you activate cruise lights in the vehicle config file. When you turn on cruise lights in-game, it will be lit. You'd also want to set "OnForAiCars = on", but that doesn't seem to actually change anything in game, so I think it's non-functional right now. Also, "DisableAtLstg3 = off".

 

Edit: What he was saying is to set the light as both extras 5 and 6 (have both 5 and 6 in the same spot), which also works, and will work with any version of ELS, as well as with the AI.
