How do I get views on Youtube?

Featured Replies

Just want to throw in some advice to the OP from what I experienced. Might be a long read so I'm going to spoiler the comment to save up on space.

I made videos for a while and I think it's about balancing great gameplay, being original and knowing what viewers like and don't like. Don't try to be like other Youtubers, instead come up with content that you feel comfortable with and think is right for your channel. Stand out from the rest. Once you get a couple of views or so, upload another video. This gives your viewers a chance to watch the videos or catch up. Also it helps if you do a commentary too. At either the start/end of the video let the viewers know to like if they enjoy your video and comment about what they enjoyed. It helps you to know what your viewers like/dislike about your videos. Balance things out, meaning some viewers will like reckless driving, others want decent driving, ect so try to balance what your viewers like/dislike. Try different things, If one video you played as a cop, maybe next you play as a noose. Do some roleplaying and I don't mean to call out 10-codes while in pursuit and take the game seriously but basically use your player model to roleplay. If you're playing as noose, do some bait cars, shootout responds etc and if you're playing as cop do some traffic stops, respond to domestic calls, drink some coffee, beat up on bums. Change it up once in a while. Don't let the viewers control what you upload. Many want you to be like this guy they like, others want the same thing this other guy is making. Instead try to take bits from other youtube videos and come up with your own content. Learning from others is a great way to know of new ways to spice up your videos and views. Get ready for hate comments and lots of request comments, oh and those pesky comments asking about how to get it on ps3 and xbox. lol. Most of all have fun, Your viewers will notice when you sound bored and uninterested in the gameplay, so have fun, joke around, enjoy the bugs and glitches and you'll see your views going up. I think you can also share your videos here on the site. I'm sure we all would love to watch and have a couple giggles here and there. You might even get some subs from us.

Thank you kpdofficer for this advice, even though my topic is kinda old. I have fun and don't take myself seriously and I do a good amount of the stuff you mentioned. Btw, is 55 subs good progress so far? I've been doing it for 4 months now.

didn't realize someone bump this thread lol. Its good progress. It does take time though. I started off with only a couple of views and plenty of dashcam videos. then it grew a decent amount of views and subs by doing commentary and playing with Makinith29. Him giving me shoutouts and and us both linking to each others youtube page help both of us out. although he had way more subs and views than I did at the start, still doesnt hurt to get more. Play with some clans or anyone who is willing to do some online play. Others will give you a shoutout and viewers will jump over to check out your content. Also tags make a big difference. Tags help people find videos relevant to the tags. So keep your tags as accurate as possible. No one wants to see a video of police pursuits when you have a tags about irrelevant stuff. Good luck and happy gaming.
