You need internet for the download to actually happen... If you mean the browser, yes: If you are using resource heavy pages.

No, atleast not so much. Spotify and Skype are much worse. And downloading other files can slow it down prett bad(i think).

It's an Amazon download, a Amazon page like popped up when I started the download. It's a digital download.

Tip: Leave your computer alone until it's 100% downloaded and installed. Everytime I have to download GTA IV from Steam it takes me around 16H...
