Yes, I know, the title may sound very weird and in fact maybe something out of Red Dead Redemption, but I see all these models with these 'streak' type things on them. Take this one for example :'?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>. How in the world do they make the things on the doors? I'm trying my hardest but they really don't turn out very well. I know it's not possible to make one with the Polygonal Lasso Tool in Photoshop, because it's too square, so is there another tool used in the making? It's really driving me nuts that I can't make a good skin and I really want to do something right for once. Thanks for helping, guys. 

I use the polygonal lasso tool to make skins and it works great. You could also try the pen tool but that would probably get you messed up lines. What is the problem when you try to use the polygonal lasso tool?

 

Use the pen tool, add some anchor points and play around with them to make nice curves, join them up and right click 'make selection' then fill your selection with your desired colour.

If it's constant-width, I also find that simply stroking curves can do wonders. If you do that, it automatically keeps them constant-width, and the design process is (IMO) simpler.
