Failure to start application ( i have done all suggested fixes)

Lcdpfr has been working fine, after playing for about 20 mins i will get some error in script. (i think the errors vary).

The most recent error was a vehicle error in script when leaving the police station to pick a vehicle. A windows message popped up and said gta iv failed to run. i had to resart comp. i look at through the forum and saw that i need to run the game from my launcher and rrun as admin. So i did hoping that i could have longer gameplay before i got a error in script. When i attempted to run as admin an error accured. ( Seculauncher: failed to start application)

 

I unchecked read only, ran as admin both lcpdfr and gta iv launcher. i have gone all through youtube and lcdpfr.com

Please help me if you can and thank you for your time!

Crashes are normal within 20-40 minutes, but I am going to ask a series of questions. Here we go: What mods are you using? Car mods, scripts etc. List them please. Are you using a legal copy of the game? What are your computer specs?

It seems that It's not an Legal copy at all, But it would be Great if you answer the following car mods and other extra scripts

With all the following errors that this users is getting and that he has an good PC System with RAM 8, and total of CPU "cores 6". And so I thought it will be an Crack version, but as I look into it more, the game that he has got is from steam Not an PC disc version.

 

- Run the game as Admin, Right click on the LaunchGTAIV run as administrator

- Off click Read-only, Right click in the main GTA root folder and Check box “blank

GTA IV is a very demanding game though. Not accusing you of lying either haha, I thought maybe you knew how to discover a illegal copy via the report :)

Sorry for the late reply, I am very new to modding. If i run the game from gtaivlauncher i get a weird secure launcher notice. I have tried everything there is to fix it and nothing works besides reinstalling the game and starting over. So i have to run it from steam where i cant run as admin. Also I do uncheck read only but it just checks it self everytime. My game is a legit copy from steam. As for mods im not sure my scripts in the scripts folder are Vdhpolicehelper, APLR, Breathalyser, firstresponse, POE,Policing. As for cars i am sorry but i really dont know. I have a police charger from lcpdfr, and lamburghini, and sheriff crown vic all from lcpdfr. I use spark iv for everything. I dont know how to find my computer specs. I will give them to you if u tell me how.

 

Again i know i am a total noob, i am sorry for the lack of information but thank you so much for all your help! (also if there is a way to look at the actually car mods i have installed I will tell you those as well.


Oh and i just installed traffic flow to try and get rid of my stupid taxi problem.

You should only launch the game via LaunchGTAIV.exe, if it crashes when you do that somethings wrong. You are right-clicking the file and selecting run as admin? I would recommend you use OpenIV instead of SparkIV, much better IMO. 

 

You can install a software called "Speccy" from Piriform and post your spec details from there.

When launch via launchgtaiv.exe, I get the securelauncher failed to start application[2000]

 

And then the only way to fix that is to reinstall the game :/ Okay if i switch now will i lose all my cars? I am just importing and then clicking import then save. Is that correct?


So is there anyway to restart on my car mods? I did make a backup on steam but with that restore my cars too? also do you know how to find the back up files and install them?

 

... and you are right-clicking it? You won't lose anything unless you overwrite the current files. Read the manual for OpenIV! :) 

 

If you made a copy of your gta iv folder when it was fresh, copypasting that back will remove any car mods you may have. Or did you make a backup with the steam client?
