Is it possible to enable liveries on the securicar (modded)?

Featured Replies

I have replaced the securicar with KevinDV's Lenco Bearcat, and created a Brinks skin for it. Unfortunately, it is not spawning with any of the liveries. The wtd file still has the original Noose liveries on slots 1 to 3, and I replaced the 4th with my Brinks skin, saved it and rebuilt img. Every attempt at spawning the truck, though, has yielded simply a white (only color entered in carcols.dat) vehicle with the faint noose markings seen on the wft in Open IV's model viewer. None of the actual liveries themselves show up.

Very new to modding, and I am certainly no creator. I've been using GTA IV Vehicle Mod Installer  for all of my installs, and as mentioned above, Open IV  to swap in/out some skins on some mods. The Brinks skin is my first attempt at skinning, and I figured that before I waste any more effort on the skin, I ought to see if there's something obvious (or not) that I am missing, or if multiple liveries is even possible on the stockade.

My settings on the truck are as follows :

handling.dat
============
STOCKADE     6500.0  4.0   95 0.0 0.0  0.1    0.0  5  0.12  1.0 150.0 0.15 0.68 0.2  35.0  1.00 0.75 14.4 0.15 0.48    1.0  0.8  0.7  0.20 -0.25 0.0  0.5    1.0 0.3 0.5 1.5  0.15 80000   8   8300000   2

As near as I can recall, the vehicles line is stock for the stockade, with the exception of the +livery

Any help or advice would be appreciated

OpenIV's model viewer will only ever show the first livery; multi-livery support is not built in to OpenIV. To view any others, you have to go ingame.

Ok, that makes sense with the model viewer. My issue with the livery is in game, though. Changed the carcols entry for the stockade, and found that the truck does spawn with the original noose livery, but only the first skin. After further testing, I've discovered that the Bearcat won't seem to spawn any extra liveries, only the first livery slot, even installed on the Enforcer.

It would appear that perhaps the fault is with the Bearcat mod itself, and not (necessarily) because I screwed something up. I guess now I go on the hunt for an updated version, or simply try to find a better looking armored car than the base game version.

Thank you for the reply

I've never had this issue. You're sure they're installed to the right skin names? (xxx_sign_1, xxx_sign_2, etc.; replace xxx with the appropriate thing)

Do you use SNT ( Simple Native Trainer ) ?. If you use it try to change liveries in-game with it, if it doesn't work, then you can enable Livery Change on the trainer.ini:

VehicleLivery=1

to

VehicleLivery=0

And try again. If not, then it's an issue of the model itself or the skin naming.

EDIT: I Tested it in-game and there's a problem with the Truck/Game itself, even if you add +livery, it won't change it in-game. You'll need to replace it with a different truck to make it work :/

Yes, as positive as I can be. The Bearcat version I DL'ed is KevinDV's Noose Bearcat, from GTA4-Mods.com. It has black paintjob with white Noose Riot and Special Operations liveries, numbered 1 thru 4. I replaced the 4th with my own skin, named bearcat_sign_4.png, as the original in the file, just to test it.

As I mentioned above, I did some further testing last night, and discovered that the one I have installed on my enforcer also will not spawn skins 2 thru 4.

I'm hoping that the version that I DL'ed is simply an older version, and that a newer version, if I can find one, may work.

Edit : I tracked down the original release post for this model, and reading the posts, it appears I'm not the only one to have this issue with the liveries. The date stamp on the files in the archive correspond with the release/edit dates on the page, but I guess because I'm just a new member, the site won't let me download the file from there to compare them.

It's an issue of the Truck/Game itself, as it appears that it doesn't recognize multiple liveries on the Stockades {even with +livery}. You can simply use only 1 skin or install it replacing one with your skin with the Pstockade and the other for the Nstockade, So far I haven't found a solution.

Thank you for trying nonetheless. Funny thing is, I could care less about the multiple liveries on the enforcer. The bearcat seemed like my best option for replacing the securicar, which is about the only vehicle I haven't found an adequate replacement for. Figured I could make use of its multiple liveries to try my hand at skinning some real world security companies lol. And unless I attempt to learn how to model, I guessed I could live with police lights on my bank trucks heh. As you said, I can make myself live with just the one skin, at least until the model gets fixed.

Thanks again
