GTA IV wont work After I installed LCPDFR

Featured Replies

How you doing guys? I'm having a couple of problems, I bought a Digital Copy of the game from Amazon. I have windows 7 and I changed the compatibility to windows XP ( service Pack 2 ) and it work the first time, After I did that I went out of the game and Downloaded LCPDFR 0.95 Beta from your website, and the game didn't work again, so I decide to " Repair " the game, but that didn't work, so I had to uninstall the game and install it again, and it wasn't working with the windows XP ( service Pack 2 ) so I changed it to windows Vista ( service pack 2 ) and it worked. But I went to the website to download LCPDFR 0.95 again, and the game is not working again. What's the problem? and how can I fix it, please? I bought the game for my PC just because of LCPDFR, I already have the game for PS3. Please Help me, I will really appreciate it. Thanks.

Welcome to the LCPDFR forums.

You should not have to change the compatibility mode for GTAIV or LCPDFR. Install GTAIV normally and then LCPDFR normally. Just remember to run the installer for LCPDFR as administrator (right click>run as admin).

I couldn't install the game if i didn't change the compatibility, and also, Im downloading the automatic lcpdfr 0.95, and all i see is a script folder inside the GTA IV folder. Where do i have to right click and run as administrator? it's already on administrator on the gta lunch icon.

Guys, I'm still having the same problems, even with 0.91. When I try to open the game, a window pops up saying that " Grand Theft Auto has stop working " I'm uninstalling the game now and I will install it again and download LCPDFR 0.91 again to see what happens. Question, Where do i get xliveless. ?

  • Author

i chose dsound

i downloaded xliveless, but i dont know if i did it right. I started playing the game and everything was good, but when i downloaded LCPDFR 0.91 its giving me the same problem, now the game is crashing before it starts.

man, im getting frustrated.

Did you run the game as an administrator? did you run the 0.91 installer as an administrator? There should be no reason the game stops working, if:

  • You have 1.0.7.0
  • You run the game and LCPDFR Installer as an admin
  • you have this and this
  • Have a fully updated GFWL OR you are using xlive
  • your GTA IV folder is NOT set to read only
  • You used the automatic installer and verified that all the files are present
  • Your copy of GTA IV is a legal copy, not a pirate copy.

In never hurts to run through this.

Oh and if you are using compatibility mode, try turning it off.
