Ok so we all know you get a set number of Police vehicles in the game. My question is how to you make the game change the skin of that car so it produces random cars.

For example say I had a custom made Crown Victoria Police Car with LCPD liverie (If someone feels like feel free to make one =P) how would I get the game to also generate at random the same car as lets say an unmarked vehicle with ELS or marked vehicle but with no lightbar instead the lights would be in the interior?

I'm sure it can be done because I have a similar Dodge charger but the lights disapper on it if I have ELS v6 installed and the AI's fire up their sirens.

With the disappearing lights, you need to disable all cars that don't have ELS in the els.ini file in your root GTA folder.

In order to generate a random "vehicle" the car mod itself needs to have multiple liveries built into its .wtd file and each livery would have to be different. This is usually the case. For an unmarked car just replace, using SparkIV, a livery with an all black one.

I just re-read your post about the unmarked car. How would add lightbars in the interior ? Or would that involve messing about with a wtf file?

Messing with physical objects like ligtbars would require editing a wft file. Also there can only be one version of a car per car file, like one can't have a lightbar and one not but be on the same car name, if you get what I mean.

Interesting, yeah I understand what you mean but I actually found a car mod that did that. But the lightbar wasn't one of those nice ones, it was like a generic one almost like it was using the game ones.

I'm not sure if loading it as an extra while editing the car would do it or not. I don't create or edit cars so im mot sure about that.

On a non-ELS vehicle, the lightbar can be made an extra and cars will spawn with or without it. However, this does not work with ELS.

Ohhhhhh, that would explain why the lights were disappearing on them when I had ELS v5 or higher installed.
