GTA won't start with Version 0.91

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

As above really, I just found out about LCPDFR and it sounded great so I thought I'd give it a go, it downloaded and installed fine but now I can't get the game to start at all, every time I click on the icon it just comes up with "Grand Theft Auto IV has stopped working windows will close the programme and notify you if a solution is available" I downloaded and tried running the G17 Media IV Diagnostics. That starts fine and I get ticks next to "CPU Supported, RAM Supported,.NET Framework 4.0 installed, Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable installed and GTA IV detected but then it crashes just like the game and I get "G17 Media IV Diagnostics has stopped working" etc etc

Sorry, it's probably something really simple that I'm not doing right as I don't know that much about computers lol I've tried reinstalling LCPDFR 0.91 several times and tried running both the game and the Diagmostic tool as administrator but still no luck. :(

Also it's a 100 % legal copy of GTA IV and of windows 7 and I've completed all the missons up untill the one where you have to kill Faustien in his club (sorry, can't remember the name of the misson lol) The game was working fine until I installed the mod but now It just won't start at all...

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

Steve

Thanks mate, I've tried the downloads but to no avail... gotta admit that I don't really understand any of the other technical stuff in that post though lol If I still can't get it to work I'll just uninstal LCPDFR so I can get GTA IV back ;)

Ok, so I'm really sorry to be a pain but how do I uninstal the mod? I've seen onother post on here that says I just have to "Delete 'Scripts\FirstResponse.net.dll' in your IV folder." but when I open up the GTA IV folder all I can see is "User Music" and "Videos" *confused*

You need to go into program files under either Steam or Rockstar, depending on if you have the game on steam or not.

Thanks, I've managed to get rid of it and GTA IV is now working fine again! :) A shame I couldn't get the mod to work really cos it looks really awesome on youtube... never mind lol

Thanks a lot for all your help guys! :)
