    From when I spoke to him via TeamSpeak, he said he bought a copy of zmodlerer, and via teamveiwer it said that it was the latest (2.2.6 build 993).

    I found an illegal copy of the same version of ZModeler and the same thing happens. So it could be that he lied to you...

    Forgot to mention in my first post that I do realize that, and if it so happens to be an illegal copy, then the OP of this might as well give up.
