Need some help with Zmodeler

Featured Replies

Hey Guys, I have some problems with Zmodeler. I modeled some parts togehter, a rambar, some TA lights and a lightbar. This set is completed by a Suburban. Before importing the models, and merging the car, I import all the textures requested as  png and as dds to be sure. But when I export it says this :

Object "polpatriot.wft" was not found. Whole scene will be exported.
Using texture "fara" which doesn't suit settings for shader "gta_vehicle_interior".
Using texture "vehicle_genericmud_car" which doesn't suit settings for shader "gta_vehicle_interior".
Using texture "body" which doesn't suit settings for shader "gta_vehicle_interior".

I tried to fix, I disabled the textures named here, renamed the whole material but it didn´t helped ? May someone can help me please ? Thanks a lot guys ! :-)

also when exporting make sure you export the same name that's on the top of the hierarchy in zmod.. if you get what im trying to say..

(if it says police in the hierarchy export it as police) if you don't do it, it will mess your model up

Only import with .png,  Export the model re import in then export it again. Should be fixed.

It kinda works. But now the rambar and the lights are white with no textures ?!

Do I just have to name it "police" when exporting ? When I have the finished file I can rename it, can´t I ?

I'm not sure about the lighting, it could be that the lightbar and rambar textures got messed up if you didn't import those models' textures as png like the rest of the model.

You should be able to change the name of the model when exported, but it will change the handling characteristics unless you modify the handling.dat.

So what to do about the textures ?

No, did you even import the rambar textures? Also you must import Vehshare textures.

No Veshare is imported (png and dds)

I always import all textures as png AND dds ? Problem ?

K, i´ll try out. But BTW, can the wtd be the problem too ? Because it has the textures in it ?

YES ! The WTD was the main problem. But I encounterd another one. My TA lights are inside the vehicles´ windows and els doenst work. And does some body know how I can map els on a vehicle ? I want to add some warning lights

It could be that the els light textures themselves were not imported into the wtd. It could also be that the els textures you originally imported into zmodeler were dds, while the rest of the model was png. It will load the textures in zmodeler, but when you export the model, it will only export one file type at a time, in this case png. The solution is to convert the dds files into png files, either through a photo editing program or through openiv.

For adding more els lights, you can see this tutorial: http://www.lcpdfr.com/page/tutorials/index.action/_/vehicle-modification-tutorial/video-adding-more-lights-r42
