I'm just installing a fresh version of GTA IV right now. I'll install the basics (Trainer, ELS and all my cars), and change the keys on ELS as well. Hopefully it works. See, here's the thing, one of the guys from my clan didn't even touch the keys and his works just fine :/ . This is really bugging me now and it's forced me to give a 1 star rating on it. I am really not impressed.

 

So because you did something wrong you aren't impressed and were "forced" to give ELS v7 a 1 star rating? That is just a load of crap. Many people spent countless hours and days working on that to release it. Lt. Caine didn't force you to download ELS v7 or give it a 1 star rating. So instead of trying to change keybindings to try and fix it, you gave it a poor rating? That isn't right at all. Many other people have had the same problem(s) as you and figured them out by changing some options.

You are not impressed because there is something wrong on your side, ELS V7 works properly and is fully functional.

• Reinstall GTA IV with latest patch
• Install only ELS v7 by draging all the files from ELS v7.rar file to your GTA IV folder
• Make sure that in ELS.ini file the police cars are turned on (more info about that in )
• Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework 4 & Microsoft Visual C++
• Run the game as an administrator
• Start new game
• Steal police car
• Check if ELS v7 is working

Well as for it crashing, I have one guess, how many .asi loaders do you have? If you have 2, xliveless.dll and dsound.dll, that might be the problem. I read over NicolaiB's thread again and he said that might be the problem. So double check you GTAIV root folder for those two files, xliveless.dll and dsound.dll. If you only have one and it still crashes, I'm not sure what to tell you.

Thanks for that. My game has finished reinstalling and when I get back from school I will try and only install ELS 7.

Ah, I'm in a mess here.

 

You dont need to have xlive_d.dll and the other 2 is up to you which one you are going to remove. 

Thankfully, it works now. Game just needed a reinstall to be honest.

i figured out that if you dont have all els stuff dont put it onj everything that doesnt have it and it will work fine

I also have a weird crash, not sure if it is tied into els or first responce, but when i have a 3 star wanted level my game crashes and i get a SMPA60 crash I can see the police responding to me from about three blocks away they disapear a minute later i get the error, only cars i have installed are CJ's 2013 ford intercepter and his CPVI charger and suv. :(  Could it possibly be related to the els.ini lines? ClearRandAiExtras = on

((I also have Zero cars saved into safe houses its a fresh install of the game))

Made account just for this problem so as for hijacking I have no idea what that means, i read that forum and it had to do with cars saved to safe houses, I have none. Game worked fine until i installed els 7, now when police enter about a 3 block range they get deleted and then I crash, this only happens above a 3 star wanted level.

Hijacking basically means that you enter someone else's thread and post about your own problems.

Make an own thread instead.
