Hi guys,

 

I've been having problems connecting to Multiplayer games.

I've forwarded all my ports, turned on virtual servers, given my PC a static IP Address, NAT type is open, tried enabling DMZ, and still "Unable to connect to game session."

 

I got a new router today, and configured it right, with port forwarding and everything, my NAT type is open, tried DMZ, and still the "Unable to connect to game session."

 

Any thoughts?

 

I'm running Windows 8, and a fresh install of GTA IV isn't really an option.

try uninstalling everything to do with games for windows live even the marketplace and reimstalling everything again

 

I'm currently doing a re-install, using the Disc, and then gonna use the title update 1.0.7.0 patch from RS Games, and then try MP with no MODs except LCPDFR

yes that is what i did cause i have windows 8 and it screws EVERYTHING UP but reinstalled all games for windows software then reinstalled everything to do with games for windows live

And I assume, your MP worked after that?

so, use the gfwl update from RS Games, AND uninstall the marketplace too?

Update:

Re-install did not fix the problem.

A direct Internet connection was suggested, and that didn't work as the DNS wasn't working when connecting directly from the antenna from which I receive my Internet signal.

Someone thinks that it may be the fact my Windows 8 is x64 (64 bit) system.

I forgot to update this thread.

The problem was not Windows 8 (64 - bit) and I don't have satellite Internet.

I recently (about a week ago now) obtained a Static IP from my ISP, and set it up.

Not the Static IP you have to set for your PC.

This Static IP is obtained from your ISP.

My multiplayer worked after that.
