Script advice and such

Featured Replies

Hi all!

Just started playing LCPDFR last night and just have to say how awesome it is and what a stellar community of talented modders reside here. I've had a lot of fun checking things out and experiencing a different side to a game I already loved!

My question is this: I've pretty much got a handle on importing cars via spark but I seem to get a script error with the (I think its called) EVCS beta script. I have the newest version of the policing script as well and the ELS script. Which scripts should I be running and is there any script out there that is sort of an "all encompassing" kind of deal? I can play for an hour or so but notice I get a fatal error that kicks me out and I think its due to some car mod incompatibility but I'm not sure which ones.

Can anyone tell me what I should be using for the maximum experience while still being stable?

Also, are there any keys available for mods like the policing script? I can't for the life of me give breathalyzers and since putting in another script can not call for transport or back up when I've arrested someone.

Thanks and I'd love to roll with any of you out there, add me up on live. Cainsmoker is my name.

Sadly, there is no all-encompassing script. Also sadly, there's no universal "most stable" mod.

ELS v6 is notoriously unstable on many computers. v5 is more stable, generally. v7 (in testing) looks to be much more stable.

EVCS is an alternative to ELS; I'm not sure if they can be run together, but it would be somewhat unusual. EVCS is also in beta now, FWIW stability-wise.

Personally, I use ELS, with LCPDFR, Police Helper, Braveheart's mod, and more (I run an extremely heavily modded game). It works acceptably for me; it may not for you.

What error are you getting with the cars?

Thanks for getting back with me.

I'll have to see what exactly it is when I get back in front of it, but I read somewhere and have a sneaking suspicion that it may be because I had a modded car saved in the noose spot. I may just import the original img for vehicles and try again.

It most def isn't my system though, it can handle anything I can throw at it and beg for more.

Should I be using EFLC so I'm able to use police3 and so on? I'd like to have a couple of options for cars as the situation dictates but I'm not sure how to go about using car slots and the like....

I know. Total newb.

So I should be able to go right in and not have to do any additional stuff? My GTA is the complete, left side screen is gta 4 and the right is eflc.

Pleeeease don't tell me I gotta move all my scripts into yet another folder. I'm slowly getting acclimated to how this all works but don't want any curve balls like I've read about. Ah well, I guess if I have to reinstall I will.

Thanks for your help, guys. I'd love to kick it on patrol with you!
