I cant even make it through 10-30 min. of game play...then i get the GTAIV.exe has encountered a problem and need to close. soory for the inconvienance, etc...debug,,send, quit..etc.. ya-know that one ..game will still play if i don't click anything and open it fron the tool bar...but just not well then finally.. jus crashes.approaching vehicles have  black lines on the interior of texture (even before i get the Era..have tried all kinds od settings,,truth is my graphics besides that are crisp*.. same with pictures on walls blak lines kinda shady (hard to explain...UGH...anyone know of a good driver update link? im so about to quit playing this f'n game :( even though I do love it..not good for my blood pressure lol..I plan on taking  my pc back up to my guru and wipe the hard drive again...perhaps i will just buy a hard drive for my Addonics Enclosure..and jus dedicate it seeing how i don't have 1-2k  to throw down on a decent rig.. UGH don't laugh but this is what i am currently tryin to play lcpdfr on: AMD Athlon Processor LE-1660, 3.2GB Ram, ATI Radeon HD3600 XPpro.SP3 worked good enough for FSX10>> with graphis set med to ultra// when he re-installs xpsp3 (OR should i go with windows7 and do i need a Dual processor or dual core processor to play LCPDFR without glitches etc etc? is there any dll files or framework i should have him install..are does it all come with the copy of xp or windows7 when he installs it?? I really want to stay with LCPDFR for a LONG while.. get in a clan...record..but i have to have it running smoothness b4 hand.Thanks in advance for your time and support..IT IS APPRECIATED!!..Suggestion would be appreciated. Yeap. I got the same. I playing GTA IV, after 10-30 min the game crashed and I have enter the game again...

I got windows 7 + ATI 4200HD video card.

yea...so i just don't know witch way to turn...i did notice that my fps dont even make it up past like 18...>< with all settings set to low... wonder if Ram and processor speed speeds or the answer? i see these vids on YouTube  and i just cant believe how smooth it runs and the graphics and they all use mods.....guess its a trade secret..i even tried to update my drivers...ask for like 30 bucks jus gonna have it cleaned and updated back to ground Zero...let you know...how i wish i had some tech blood in me lol...be safe.

First; you need a decent processor, Quad Core recommended, although I run mine with a dual-core i5 with no issues, a lot of ram (at least 4gig, but 8-16gig is best) and a decent vid car with at least 1gig of ram, preferably 2gig or more.  

 

Second; are you guys using mods and ELS cars ect, if so which ones?  Be specific.  Some mods and cars will just wreak havoc on your FPS and game stability, especially if you don't meet the computer specs above.

thanks so much Dr D...and i can get a list of the mods i like to use..and yea im def going change a few things in my tower... i really like this game, and want to do some recording and such and jus have it run smoothhh ..what operating system do you thing i should run? stay with xpsp3? (i think i can only run 3.2gbRAM (witch i have on now) with it though... Windows 7? im getting a list together i thought i would go with a Pentium 4 or dual core...but i just want to run smooth so quad sounds good too... if its no to pricey and i planned on getting a 2gig Vid card...to help ease the load on Pentium 4

 or dual core if i go that way...any suggestions? would i still need a 2gig Vid card if i go with a quad core? thanks alot Dr Detroit or anyone else who is offering. I got about a week or two till i pull it all together..thanks be safe//~Ficdawg!
