The latest updated version of RAGE Plugin Hook, required to play LSPDFR, can be found inside the LSPDFR download. It is not currently available on the RAGE Plugin Hook website.

RAGEPluginHook stuck on launch / launcher restarts - no log file, all commo

Featured Replies

System: Lenovo Legion Pro 5, RTX 5070 + AMD Ryzen 9 iGPU (hybrid graphics), Windows 11

GTA V Legacy v1.0.3788.0 (fresh reinstall)

RAGE Plugin Hook v1.130.1406.17682 PUBLIC (bundled with LSPDFR 0.4.9)

SYMPTOM:

Launching RAGEPluginHook.exe directly causes the Rockstar Games Launcher to

restart/reconnect to servers instead of launching GTA5.exe. RPH overlay gets

stuck indefinitely on "This is taking longer than usual...". No

RagePluginHook.log or Logs folder is EVER created, even with -log commandline

argument (via commandline.txt and "Restart with logging" button).

Using the alt-tab method (launch game normally via launcher, alt-tab during

loading screen, then launch RPH) DOES get the game to fully load in-game with

the RPH overlay rendering visually on top (so the DirectX hook itself appears

to work), but the overlay still gets stuck forever with no log file created.

Once got a "Grand Theft Auto V Legacy exited unexpectedly" crash via RPH

after reinstalling the launcher, but reverted to the stuck-launcher symptom

on subsequent attempts before I could fully test Safe Mode.

ALREADY TRIED (no success):

- BattlEye disabled (confirmed multiple times; it reset itself once after

reinstalling the launcher, re-disabled it)

- Norton 360 fully disabled (real-time protection + firewall both off/allow)

- Windows Core Isolation / Memory Integrity disabled + restarted

- Smart App Control confirmed already Off

- -nodx commandline flag (Disable DirectX Hook)

- Game files verified via launcher "Verify Integrity"

- Rockstar Games Launcher fully uninstalled + reinstalled (incl. rescanning

for existing installs)

- NVIDIA App in-game overlay disabled

- "Disable fullscreen optimizations" compatibility flag on both

RAGEPluginHook.exe and Launcher.exe

- Firewall/antivirus exclusions added for the full game folder + RPH.exe

Root cause not yet identified. All standard fixes exhausted. Any help

appreciated

This is probably why it isn't working. RPH works by hooking into the game memory, if you disable the DIrectX Hook then RPH won't initialise at all.

Revert the option and try it again, loading into the game first and then starting RPH. If it still doesn't work, run RPH as an admin and it should generate the log. If you keep -log in your commandline.txt it should generate a RagePluginHookLaunhcer.log also

Okay, and did it generate any logs?

What platform do you have GTA on? Steam/Epic/Rockstar Launcher/Xbox Games?

Rockstar launcher. It doesn’t make logs

If this is the case even when running as an admin then there is likely still something on your PC blocking it from running. Make sure you don't have any other anti-virus software or Windows Settings preventing it from executing.

Just to confirm as well, you have definitely installed the Legacy version of LSPDFR and RPH and not the Enhanced version?
