LSPDFR Enhanced Preview - Console/Framegen/SHVDN (Enhanced) issue

Featured Replies

Hello, this is my first time installing LSPDFR (Enhanced Preview) on GTA V Enhanced Edition via Steam.

This is a continuation from this forum: https://www.lcpdfr.com/forums/topic/155767-rph-console-not-opening/

Here is the backstory (Skip if needed):

I can launch GTA from steam, with all prior mods working. I can also launch GTA via RagePluginHook. Both times I selected to NOT have the LSPDFR plugin pre-loaded.

However, in game, when I try to open the RageHook console using F4, my game freezes. Pressing F4 again unfreezes like nothing happened.

ScriptHook V's console keybind was also F4, so initially thought this was the error.

I changed RagePluginHook's console keybind to F6 via settings to remove the interference, however, the problem persisted.

Then I tried the game WITHOUT RageHook. The F4 key worked fine and opened Script Hook V console.

Here is the current situation:

After digging and finding the solved forum above, I ran into another problem.

Disabling NVIDIA DLSS Framegen solves the loading RagePlugin console issue. Instead of Script Hook's Console, I can clearly tell its different and it says Rage Console. Okay perfect.

However, even though I had set the keybind to F6, the keybind that was working was still F4 (default). I checked the .ini file, and it reads:

[Miscellaneous]
DisableRenderVersionText=False
PluginTimeoutThreshold=10000
[Variables]
IsDeveloperModeEnabled=False
ConsoleKey=F6

And when going back to the settings it magically reverted to F4. Which doesn't make sense.

And I want to have DLSS FrameGen enabled without having problems with RagePlugin Console for a better and smoother experience.

Crash:

At the time of typing this, I also tried booting from Rage again and I now get a crash for the first time. It happened twice back to back and I never changed anything. Then the third time it was successful. The inconsistency is concerning. Let me know if you want to see the crash report.

Hello,

Welcome to LCPDFR.com

I appreciate all of the information you have provided in order to help troubleshoot the issue. There is an issue with 4000 and 5000 series NVIDIA GPUs and the RPH console window and it is due to the Smooth Motion feature. You will need to disable NVIDIA Smooth Motion globally, or for GTA V seperately. You can find instructions on NVIDIA's website for doing that here (set to Off instead of On): https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5621/~/enabling-smooth-motion-in-nvidia-app

Can you also upload your latest RagePluginHook.log from your main game folder please.

Hi, thank you for your quick response,

I can confirm I already had NVIDIA smooth motion turned off globally and for GTA V Enhanced.

Are you saying that Smooth Motion is the issue and not Frame Generation?I believe they are 2 different things.

Im currently in storymode roaming around with the same settings above (FrameGen On)

Latest log:

RagePluginHook.log

Here are the previous 3 logs (before the one above), if that helps:

RagePluginHook_02072026_000636.log

RagePluginHook_02072026_000139.log

RagePluginHook_02072026_000139.log

Again, thank you for your help!

Ah no worries. No it was just a diagnostic step as I hadn't seen it mentioned.

However, I noticed you're using a community version of ScriptHookVDOTNET. You should be using this one: https://github.com/scripthookvdotnet/scripthookvdotnet-nightly/releases

Try that and see if your ScriptHookV console issues are solved.

As for frame gen, I'm currently looking into it, but I don't know if RPH is compatible with frame gen with NVIDIA cards.
