Rockstar Updates - kills LCPDFR

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Long time player and lurker, first time posting. I deleted my GTA V a while ago because the only real reason why I wanted to play it was because of LCPDFR. However, it seemed like about every 2-4 weeks, Rockstar would send out an update that would automatically update the game and then LCPDFR would crash. I would then have to reinstall everything from scratch to make it work again.

Does anyone else have to do this when Rockstar does an update or is it just me and I am an idiot?

I'd like to install it again and play again - love the look of the new Tahoe's.

Side note - what kind of controllers to do you all use?

If you're using the steam version of GTA right click on your game and click "properties" after that go to update and under "automatic updates" select "update when i launch the game"

If you're using the Epic launcher, click on your account and go to the settings tab, then go down to Manage Games and look for the tab labeled

"GRAND THEFT AUTO V" click on it and there should be a box labeled "Auto-Update GRAND THEFT AUTO V" uncheck that.

Also make sure that before you launch GTA you save the game files that have the GTA logo on them, I attached an example below.

Hope this helps!

Thankfully Rockstar hasn't released a version update since early March, but I suspect you have just jinxed it xD

Ok - my fault if they do.

No you don’t need to reinstall everything every time. All you do is backup 5 files and when an update hits you simply copy over your old files to your gta v directory and your back on your previous version
