Idea for a Scene/Backup Organizing mod

Featured Replies

Hey,

I’ve had an idea for a mod for a while now.

But since I’m not familiar with creating mods myself, I just wanted to suggest this idea—maybe someone will like it.

Everyone knows the NPCs in GTA, especially the backup NPCs.

Everyone knows that they sometimes really ruin the immersion.

I don’t know to what extent you can influence them, but there are also mods like MTFO that make the NPCs smarter.

What I’ve been wanting for years is a plugin that would allow for better organization on the scene.

Unfortunately, the backup NPCs are pretty clunky right now and keep bumping into each other.

It would be cool if you could set a marker during backup to specify how each unit should be positioned, maybe even with a marker for the direction.

That way, you could, for example, block off streets by positioning units across them or lining up all units one after another in a single lane.

It would also be cool to be able to assign more tasks to the backup NPCs themselves. Right now, they just either follow you around or guard the suspects.

I’m thinking along the lines of being able to place markers to block off a street and stop traffic there—similar to normal traffic control, but instead of a circle, it would be a street, e.g., from point A to point B.

Covering certain areas (you place a marker at the spot where the NPC is supposed to monitor the area). Something like that.

What do you think of my idea, and is it possible?

Best regards,

Daniel
