LSPDFR crashes when initiating pursuit since last update

Featured Replies

Hey all, so as you read in the title, my problem here is, that the LSPDFR plugin crashes every time I initiate a pursuit since the new update. I have already done anything that could've helped with fixing the issue. I reinstalled RPH, LSPDFR, ScriptHookV and I deleted Spotlight and HeliAssist from the folder, which apparently can cause this issue. Nothing has helped though and the discussions about similar issues from years ago don't really help. I did not install any new plugins or scripts. I'm not sure what to do anymore, because I can't find the problem. Hope y'all can help me out. RagePluginHook_10072025_154853.log

Hey there!

So it does look like a spotlight plugin was still being called for from the plugins folder even though you said it was removed but I'm not exactly sure that would cause it. Have you gone through all your installed plugins and made sure they are also up to date/still supported? I had the exact same problem and found out that I had a few outdated plugins. I would also make sure your drivers are up to date too, that weirdly crashes on pursuits sometimes.

I would make sure that your callout plugins are all up to date, and that non of them are deprecated, discontinued, or abandoned. Also, for future reference, the log you have posted is not the correct log. the log needed for people to help you out is NOT located in the logs folder. It IS located in your main-game directory where RagePluginHook.exe is located. It will be a text file named either "RagePluginHook" or "RagePluginHook.txt"

Could contain: text, screenshot, font, line, number

Disclaimers:

  • You are the sole owner of you game, it's files, and the accounts associated with them. I do not, and will not claim responsibility with what you do/chose to do with your property EVER, as you, the sole owner of the property, are the only one liable for said property
  • All of my help/suggestions are not always a solution. Nothing is a solution unless it actually solves your issue. Do not blame me if something does not work, as that decision falls under you, the owner for attempting it; whether properly or improperly done.
  • The goal of my posts is strictly to help others who are in need; or point out issues in other's content (i.e. bugs, imperfections, conflictions, etc.) and nothing else.

Hey! So, I tried it again today and so I've removed the Spotlight plugin completely now and I (as far as I know) updated every plugin that could've caused the crash. I don't think it's a problem from a specific callout plugin though because it happens when pursuits are initiated in general, also happens when a suspect flees from a traffic stop. I've verified the game files as well and I reinstalled LSPDFR. I don't know what could possibly cause the crash.

Rename mods to _mods and see if you get any LSPDFR crashes.

I did as you said and surprisingly the plugin didn't crash. I don't understand though what mod could cause the crash. All I have are addon vehicles for LSPD, SAHP and LSSD, the Mission Row PD Addon, Diner Addon, PoliceTape, better radiance for ELS, replaced vehicles, replaced sirens, replaced license plate textures and EUP/SUP. None of it has caused any problems in the past. And I haven't changed or added anything in the mods folder for a few weeks.

Best you can do is remove stuff from your mods folder and test after each removal. If you can't find the issue, you may have to restart the mods folder. LSPDFR just doesn't like something custom you have installed.

Additionally, you can just live with the crashes and reload the plugin each time it does crash.

So it appears that MCCallouts and tacsims casual callouts are outdated. But it could also be the sheer number of mods you have. Make sure everything is up-to-date, and that non of those mods are deprecated, discontinued, or abandoned. Mods like that can cause instability due to lack of support for the mods. Other than that I can't really see what else is causing crashes on my end. But hopefully this brings more stability

To clarify outdated means you are not using the latest version of them, please update to the latest versions.
