LSPDFR horrible FPS once i go on-duty

Featured Replies

i would say my PC is pretty decent, i always get at least 100+ fps in story mode anywhere on the map, but the moment i go on-duty in LSPDFR, my fps drops significantly. I average about 50-60 anywhere outside of the city, and 25-35 while inside the city. i have a bunch of plugins installed (stop the ped, a few callout packs, grammar police, etc...). Is there a way to fix my FPS? i've tried a few solutions such as changing graphics settings, downloading a gameconfig, and other recommended solutions but none helped all that much. I also have my population density set to 3/10, 10/10 lowers my fps even more. Anytime the LSPDFR plugin crashes, my fps goes way back up to 100+.

I have a Ryzen 5 3600x, RTX 3070, 32gb ram

The more plugins you have installed, the worse the game will perform. This is just reality as you start to start to make the game more CPU bound than GPU bound with all of the extra running processes and logic. You kinda will need to selectively disable plugins to see which ones hurt your FPS the worst and make the decision on whether it is worth keeping that plugin or not.

Yeah, FPS drops have honestly been one of the longest-running issues with LSPDFR. You’ll find tons of posts about this—even I posted about it years ago. There’s no real fix; it’s just how the mod is. Like mike406 said, the more plugins you run, the worse the performance gets. Some plugins affect performance more than others, so it's worth testing them individually to see which ones tank your FPS the most.

And yeah, it doesn’t matter if you’ve got a high-end rig—people with insane specs still experience FPS drops when going on duty. I’ve got a pretty weak setup myself (GTX 1060), and I get around 25–30 FPS in the city. But despite that, my game runs very smoothly with minimal lag (you'd think I have a top-of-the-line graphic card LOL). A lot of that comes down to how your visual mods, LSPDFR settings, and graphics settings are configured. There’s no magic fix for the FPS, but you can make the game feel smoother even with low frame rates.
