Any way to get ELS lights to flash on tow truck, flatbed, and speedo mods?

Featured Replies

I've been looking for a way to get the els lights to flash when I call for tow trucks, flatbeds and coroners this whole week and still havent been able to locate the fix. Is there anyone that would know if this is possible to set up??

So far I've tried to adjust the lighting settings for each file through carvariations.meta and was only able to get the tow truck to respond with lights activated. Of course I tried to copy the lines from actual emergency car files as well but still hasn't worked out.

Are you using the vanilla models for the tow trucks and speedo or do you have mods installed to replace these vehicles?

Theres mods installed on those vehicles for my build, I know those aren't coded the way the vanilla emergency cars are to be able to respond with lights but Im thinking if the police and ems vehicle files can activate lights then there should be a way to have that code placed to other vehicles. Ive tried to adjust the UB ini settings along with the carvariations meta but still hit a road bump.

Are they ELS or non-ELS vehicles? If they are ELS, they should respond with lights activated. You just need to make sure you put their ELX xml in the ELS pack_default folder in your GTA V directory.

So I have all xmls in that folder and as I mentioned my modded emergency vehicles respond with code 3 lights and sirens just fine. Its the non-emergency vehicles that aren't able to respond with code 3 lights, so even though my tow trucks and flatbed are ELS enabled and the xmls are in the proper location they still don't respond with lights.

For anyone who may ever search this issue if you're dealing with the same thing:

The main issue : Getting ELS lights to activate on service vehicles that have light bars, but typically  are not designed to light up  (ex. towtruck, towtruck2, flatbed, speedo, addons)

The fix:  Go into your carvariations file in Open IV (update/update.rpf./x64/data)

               - On the vehicle that you want to place active lights on, add values to both the light and siren settings of that vehicle set. This is typically located at the end of each vehicle set. Each vehicle set closes with "</Item>", so you should see it slightly before that line.

                                                                  <lightSettings value="15"/>
                                                                  <sirenSettings value="16"/>

After changing these settings everything works and the service vehicles are now responding with code 3 lighting! To my knowledge there aren't specific values that you have to put, but if you put a siren value between 1-9 there's a chance you may hear the siren when they're responding and that's prob not the preference for a tow truck, to each their own tho.

Blessings to you all.
