Modding Etiquette

Hello all,

New here, honestly not even sure of I'm in the right category.

I've been spending the last couple days going through the excruciating task of tweaking my UB and EUP xml's to work with a state-wide car pack. I'm feeling generous, so I figure I'll upload it when I'm done to save someone else the labor if they want the same car pack.

I've done some serious editing to these files, but I'm wondering if I'm still supposed to ask Bejoljo and/or Joe C Wilson for permission to upload what is essentially their files with additions.

Worth noting that I would only be uploading the few files I tweaked, leaving it completely dependent on their original mods anyway.

If anyone could provide me with some guidance on this, I'd appreciate it!

Generally those config files are designed to be modified and shared so you shouldn't need to ask the original author of them for permission. We've never had an issue with the original plugin authors reporting customizations so long as the .dll is not included.

Now if you are taking someone else's modification of those files and tweaking it, then you should ask permission. We do get reports on occasion for that kind of thing.

Awesome, thank you for the info
