Cannot get ELS to work

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

So like a lot of comments, I too cannot get ELS to work. The vehicle model loads fine, but lights don't activate. There's a rear windshield light bar, but they're a static blue and don't flash, only the tail lights. To start, I have tried with this pack:

I attempted to install a different pack but it totally crashed my game so I just removed its files and started over. Troubleshooting steps attempted:

Uninstall GTAV and all associated mods, as well as OpenIV. Reinstall asi loader and openiv loader. Downloaded and installed most recent Advancedhook into GTAV main folder. Ensured that xml files were correctly located in the default folder of ELS and that vehicle files were appropriately placed in the necessary patchday folder in openiv. I tested after each step when appropriate. No ELS log was generated.

Any thoughts?

Make sure you have the updated version of ScriptHookV as per the recent game updates.

Thank you for the reply! I didn't realize that Scripthook already had a new update after downloading the 12/12 version. Unfortunately though, it seems to have made everything worse as now the graphics are unbearably blurry and sirens don't work at all. I may try a total fresh install incorporating the new scripthook and see if that doesn't work. I'll post back later

Okay so I reinstalled everything, and the game was still blurry. Pretty quickly determined my suspicion that QuantV doesn't work with the new scripthookv was correct (everything other than ELS had worked fine before I installed the new SHV). So I removed that and the game looks fine again, and sirens come on as well. ELS still doesn't work though, indeed now even backlights and the rear windshield lightbar don't come on and remain static light they did previously.

I have the same problem, looks like we will need a new ScriptHookV update.

That's what I'm thinking. I installed a different vehicle pack to make sure it wasn't just the one I'm trying to use, and it isn't working either. Oh well, guess I'll find a non-ELS pack to play with in the mean time!

Always make sure you're dropping the .xml files in Grand Theft Auto V>ELS>pack_default. Might be putting them accidentally just in the ELS folder.

EDIT I believe I have found the solution. Remove AdvancedHook V files, all ELS files, ScriptHookV, and the dinput8.dll file. Then download and install the latest versions of these things .This method worked for me.

I'll give this a try and let you know!
