Crash that could be due to error in rage plugin hook or outside source

Featured Replies

Hi there hope everyone is well. Today when updating to version 3351 and the associate LSPDFR version + script hook V & of course rage plugin hook, I received this crash on load. It happens when there are no plugins loaded, and occurs just after the loading process begins. Rage plugin hook mentions that the crash could be due to a problem within rage plugin hook, or possibly something with game files, graphics driver, or anti-virus. This is the first time loading since the edition of Battle Eye and whatever else has changed since about last year 😕 . anyways just wondering where to go from here. I've tried updating as many things as possible and no luck. Where else can I go? Thanks folks

Hi there yup im sure your right. It crashes on its own too after I click on story mode from the main menu. I've been dreading this just because I have so many modded vehicles. anyways, do you have suggestions to go about this without having to reinstall all the vehicles?

after renaming the mod folder to"_mod" the game crashes on load after pressing story mode in both cases. Where I launch with rage plugin hook and when I launch the game by itself.

Just curious before i verify game files, do i need to rename/ move anything so that I don't lose the mods folder or anything? btw it still crashed after removing script hookV.dll

Just to stay caught up on my end, I see ScriptHookV.dll is already removed. Keep it removed. Rename mods to _mods and test one more time for me please.

Below is an updated screenshot. Still no luck after renaming mods folder  to "_mods". any other suggestions? I don't think its a mod issue. Just to remind yall, this problem happened after updating LSPDFR, Rage Plugin Hook And Script Hook V to the latest versions as I didn't backup the original games versions. This leads me to believe that its one of those three that are causing the problem. Or a problem with the game. First time loading up since battle eye not sure if that's got anything to do with it. lmk if you got any ideas 🙂

Real quick, try the BattlEye fix and see if it helps:

Rockstar recently introduced the BattlEye anti-cheat system.

To use mods like Scripthook V, RPH, and LSPDFR, you'll need to disable it. A new setting in the launcher allows this.

To disable BattlEye, open the Rockstar Launcher, navigate to the 'SETTINGS' tab and uncheck the BattlEye setting, which is by default checked.

If using third party launchers like Steam or Epic and these instructions do not work for you, you may need to create a commandline.txt file, with the contents -nobattleye or insert it into the command line arguments of the launcher

For more information, visit the Rockstar Games BattlEye FAQ.

I'll look into this because i play the game off of steam although I already disabled that setting in rockstar game launcher. I may have to add that bit of code to disable it from steam or maybe manually. Not sure though let me know if it is good enough to just disable it with rockstar or if I should invest more time into finding out how to disable it manually like you mentioned.

I entered this also into the launch options and no luck still

If after doing the BattlEye option, it is still crashing, you may need to clean your Main Directory.

Cleaning Your Main Directory:

Spoiler

Make your Main Directory look like the appropriate image below:

Clean Steam Folder

Clean Retail/Rockstar Folder

Clean Epic Games Folder

Once that is done. Verify game files and retry.
Verifying Game Files:

Spoiler

GTA V Steam

Steam Library > Right click GTA V > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files

GTA V Retail

Rockstar Games Launcher > Click GTA V > Click Settings > Verify

GTA V Epic Games

Go to your Epic Games Library > GTA V > click the three little dots > Manage > Verify
