Hello so I am trying to get RPH started but whenever I start it. The game opens and RPH seems normal but once GTAV is up and running RPH is just stuck on the "Launching game" message instead of hooking the instance how i know its supposed to. And this is with a re-installed, clean GTAV, no mods, no nothing. And Anti-virus is not the issue.

 

I have also tried running GTA first and then starting RPH. But it then open Epic and tries to run GTA again even though its already running. Please help, just want to play some LSPDFR 🙂

Are you playing GTA V on the EPIC Games version exclusively?

As I said, I’ve already tried running the game and then starting RPH and all it does is it tries to run GTA through Epic again.

 

the weird thing is this used to not be an issue. I have been off LSPDFR for a month because I had other things to attend too. And so I decided to do a new reinstall of GTA. And before I decided to take a break I was playing LSPDFR just fine though Epic

Things change, I suggest redoing the steps listed in the link I sent.

Sorry but I’m not sure you fully understood what I fully said or I have said it wrong. But that is the method that I have always been starting RPH well because, I have the Epic version.

I have also tried starting it just by clicking RPH and same problem occurs

Are you ensuring that you are not running RPH as Admin?

I have tried through both ways. As Admin, and without. Same outcome……..

Can you screenshot the whole window of the Main Directory?

Try fully launching into GTA5 first and then tab out and launch ragepluginhook

Already has been a suggestion as said by @UnknownBastion, didn’t work…….  

A big problem I think is that RPH seems to not believe that GTAV is running. Because with GTA already running when I go to run RPH it goes to open Epic Games and start another instance of GTA, even though it is already running

have you tried reinstalling lspdfr?

Yes, ofcourse. Multiple times

@Cosmicwdwd There won't be a RPH.log if RPH is stuck at "Launching Game..." though. RPH will only start generating this log if it was able to launch without issues (so if it says "Enjoy..." and minimizes).

@MZabo I have a few more suggestions you can try:

• Open the commandline.txt in your main GTA folder and replace all the text inside with the flag  
  -windowed 
  (that should be the only thing in the file). Save and close the file.
   
• Ensure that neither the GTA5.exe nor the PlayGTAV.exe in your main GTA folder is set to "Run as administrator".
  Go to the properties -> compatibility tab -> ensure the "run as administrator" option is not enabled.
   
• In contrast to the previous point and to UnknownBastion's post, in my experience, it's better to run the RagePluginHook.exe as administrator (repeat the same steps as above but add the checkmark).
   
• Although it's technically not about your error specifically, try following the instructions in the official RagePluginHook FAQ on pages 3-6:
  • add your GTA V folder as an exception to your antivirus settings
  • make sure no in-game overlays are active
  • set the permissions aka. security properties of some files and the GTA folder
