Hi, I've been trying to get the game in a playable state for a while now and just can't pinpoint the troublemaker. If I try to go to the nearest station or force duty, the game crashes. I have tried to rename the mods folder to _mods but when I do this, the game loads with the top half of the screen black. I'm not sure what I can do but am hoping maybe someone can see something in the log? I appreciate any help!

1. That is not the latest log. We need the log from your main game folder not your `logs` folder.
If there are any numbers after `RagePluginHook` then that is the wrong log.
2. The black screen is because you have some sort of graphical mod installed ENBs or the like and that requires stuff in your mods folder to work properly (which you had temporarily disabled by renaming to `_mods`)
3. The important thing to know is, when you renamed your mods folder, ignoring the black graphical glitch, were you able to go on duty successfully without crashing?

Thanks for the reply. I just tried starting up a couple of times and it keeps crashing and does not get to the actual game play part. 

 

Can you help me locate the correct log file? I am looking in the main game folder but do not see any logs. Ragepluginhook directed me to an .rcr file but I can't attach it here.

I'll save super the time, when he does read this again, to just tell you. Your RagePluginHook.log is a text document (.txt) file found in the main directory. This may be named RagePluginHook.

To be clear it's not a .txt. It's not possible for a file to be both .log and .txt, whilst windows does label it a text document under `Type` that does  not make it a .txt

As cherry explained it may not say .log at the end, if you're still struggling to see it feel free to send a screenshot of where you think it should be and I should be able to highlight it for you

 

Ok thanks everyone, I think I've found it here.

This log does not indicate you're getting even close to going on duty...

Do me a favor launch again and when you crash upload the log from the same place again.

Ok here is the new log. I got it to run once and it was working, then closed out the game and tried 2 more times and couldn't get to any game playing.

Try renaming your mods folder to _mods
Then try start your game again.

Ok I tried renaming the  mods folder and it crashes when I try to start. Tried twice, here is the log again.

Try launch regular GTA first, then once you've loaded in story mode and can move your character around tab-out and launch RagePH.

Ok I did this and the first time the mods folder was named like normal (mods). I was able to move around in the game, tabbed out and started rageph. I spawned an addon vehicle and when I tried to drive, the game crashed. I renamed mods to _mods and started the game again. Once I was able to move around in the game, I tabbed out and started rageph. I spawned FIB vehicle and started to drive, and it crashed again. Here is the log file again. I have NVE installed, I wonder if that has something to do with it??

ok there is no crash in your log
1. Just confirming you're still getting the crash with the mods folder renamed? Keep it renamed to _mods until we solve the problem

2. Do you have a vfs.dll file in your main game directory? If you do Rename the vfs.dll file to _vfs.dll. 
Then try start your game again.
3. If you don't or it's still crashing, please verify your game through whichever launched you own the game on.

Ok gotcha. I changed the mods folder back to _mods and I don't see any vfs files in my main directory. I tried to play and it crashed during the initial game loading.

Oops sorry I forgot that one. Alright I verified and was able to play. I reloaded all plugins and drove around a bit. I forced duty and lspdfr crashed during the attempt. I reloaded all plugins again and forced duty and was able to play for a bit. Mods folder remains renamed to _mods.

There is a bug in mega phone ui right now update it with the version from here 

In regards to your mods folder...
try rename it back to normal if you don't crash have fun!...

 

 

if you do crash
something in your mods folder is causing your issue. Either a mod you installed or a file you edited.
You can try revert the most recent thing you changed. Or you have to delete your mods folder and start a new one, **as it is impossible for us to diagnose what's actually causing the issue**.

I just got rid of this mod altogether and got it running finally! I appreciate your help so much!
