I've seen many posts about user's games either crashing or refusing to open. Their games worked fine, and all of a sudden. They began crashing. This started happening to me as well. After a few crashes, I uninstalled and reinstalled GTA V. The game functioned properly. I installed the new LSPDFR update with nothing else. Rage plugin opens and closes on validating. I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything twice, and RageHook closes and refuses to open. GTA V singleplayer is functioning normally. There is probably an issue with the new LSPDFR update, as I have nothing else that could cause the crash. I wanted to test things out, so on the second install, I had ASIs and downloaded some DLC pack add-on cars to test the game's limit. Everything works fine. There isn't an issue with the gameconfig being overloaded. All ASIs and Scripts function. ScriptHooks fine. The only problem is the Rage Plugin Hook refusing to open.

If you are on Steam, it requires the RockstarGames Launcher. You need a mods folder and copy your whole update folder into your mods folder (which will take time to load). You also need RageNativeUI, NativeUI, Scripthookvdotnet as well for it to work properly. It's not the new LSPDFR update, you didn't have the necessary files to run lspdfr. I recommend getting Heap Adjuster, modified gameconfig, PackFileLimitAdjuster, and GTA Resource Adjuster and see what happens.

If RPH is refusing to launch where it didn't before (and nothing has changed), it's probably connected to the false positive detection by Windows Defender.
 

It's been reported to Microsoft and they have fixed it, the issue is this update will take a while to circulate. Until it does, the advice at the top of the LSPDFR page is sound.

For the rage plug-in hook issue, it is caused by window’s security, There’s 2 thing you have to disable, I forget what but if you look up “How to fix rage plugin hook stuck on (Validating)”, on YouTube there is a video that’s like 2 minutes long that fixes the issue.

Yeah it was windows being all wonky
