Game Issues.. Please help...

Featured Replies

Hello, please... please help me. I got this game JUST to play first responder.... I have spent over 20 hours trying to get my (stock, no mods yet) game to load... I've searched, and searched, and searched and nothing listed online has corrected it yet.

Ok, I bought gta IV at walmart last week. I've tried to install gta IV but it was not working. So I took out a spare blank drive because I did not want to mess up the computer I use for work and formatted it with windows xp sp3 (its a sata drive). The game installation installed the direct x drivers, I installed the most recent nvidea drivers, most recent asus p5be chipset drivers, I installed .net 3.5.sp1. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling windows games live. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling gta IV.

When I try to boot the game, all it does is display the command box, then the command box closes, displays disk icon, and then nothing.

I believe my specs are fine.... I believe the issue is elsewhere.

Intel® Core2 CPU 6700 @ 2.66GHz

2gb ddr2 ram

GeForce GTS 250

I installed the 1.0.7 patch from here: http://support.rockstargames.com/entries/484496-grand-theft-auto-iv-patch-7-title-update-v-1-0-7-0-english-1-0-6-1-russian-1-0-5-2-japanese

I just did an unintall / reinstall of game and now getting error ws10

also doing some windows updates to see if that helps.....

Ok for some odd reason, it started working after disabling avg and doing windows updates... good.. but I have an issue in regards to the windows live not taking the cd key in game. Any feedback on that?

Also game appears to run ok on med settings and even at that has some lag spots. Is my video card / processor too weak? Specs in first post.

After installing LCPDFR, the game crashes everytime I play. It crashes before i even get out of the apt building on level 1. Please help

Another issue is the 2 gig of ram.

My old PC barely ran GTA with 4 gigs.

I could say the same, fresh install of EFLC, rebooted, update, reboot, installed LCPD:FR, reboot, play for about literally 2-3mins the CTD.
