ENB Series

I currently have GTA IV from Steam (I assume that I have the latest patch 1.7). So I'm hearing from alot of GTA IV communities that the ENB Series has visual problems with the latest patch. Is this true and is ENB compatible with lcpdfr?

Also, I see lots of patches for the ENB Series, like 0.79 / 0.81 / 0.82 etc. I'm just confused. I thought I would be able to download one single file and extract it all the my gtaiv root folder.

Do I extract all (including the folders) to the gta iv root folder? Sorry for the noob question, I'm still learning.

There should be only files starting with enb*.* and d3d9.dll. No need to copy other folders. If you are downloading the offical version from http://enbdev.com/download_en.htm the effect* folders includes

other versions of enbeffect.fx file. These files change the colors and brightness as you wish but I don't use any of them as I find them too much bright.(You can try buy replacing enbeffect.fx file each time. No need to quit the game you can minimize the game, and replace the files or do some changes in the "ini" file and return to game, if it sometimes crashes though.)

I will paste my own enbsettings.ini file content(when I'm home) so you can copy and replace with yours.

What enbsetting does, is not only changing colours but also it adds antialisign which effects the visual so much but this depends on your videocard and your system cause it may lower your frame rate.

That would be very helpful, thank you.

It seems ok. Now, I will write my settings to you in this message. (you can edit enbseries.ini file with notepad but first make a copy of original)

About Antialiasign: This line "AntialiasingQuality in the ENGINE seciton is eqyal to one on my settings. That makes your resolutation to 2560x1440 but downscales it to be ableto fit on your screen somehow. If you make it =0 it will be even higher quality but you will have less frame rate. If =2 is normal quality that its difficult to see any difference. Thats why I use =1 so leave it as it is or try =0

I mean this line in ENGINE part

AntialiasingQuality=1

When you use it, you will have two bugs.

1) sometimes you may have red sky and a red box on the sky.

2)LCPDFR's red circles(where your character should stand in) will loose it's normal space but still you can go to the suspects car windows and stop him.

Now copy all lines below over your enbseries.ini

That would be nice, Iwinder which setting causes that red sky or may be is it because of other files? I guess it's because of bloom settings. Let me compare yours with mine.

I don't use this line

UseOriginalPostProcessing=false

I use it as =true. Original collors are more realistic. Also you settings doesn't use Antialiasing, use mine for AA.

Well, I think I might have the worst ENB prob ever. Every time I change or install a custom enbseries.ini. The game won't load. Actually, won't even start.

I might think this is because my pc is like a dwarf instead of a moster:

Processor: Pentium Dual-Core T4200 @ 2.00 GHz

Memory: 4096 MB

Hard Drive: 500GB

Video Card: Radeon HD 4570 Graphics 512 MB

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit

But in 1/2 months I'll get my new pc, so I think GTA IV will run a lot better. As I have only 5-15 FPS on low settings (that's actually a shame).:

Processor: Intel Core i&-2600 @ 3.4 GHz 8MB

Memory: 8192MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3

Hard Drive: 2TB

Video Card: Radeon HD 6970 2GB DDR5

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Keep calm and eat a stroopwafel

Sorry to dig up and necro and old thread but it's a helpfull thread for anyone using ENB.

Reason for this post though is after some research and confirmed from several sources.

The setting "CyclicConfigReading=true / false" This turns out to be a setting that forces your pc to read and set the enb settings every 5 seconds.

Reason it's there is to make ajustments on the fly by alt tabbing and having the changed setting take effect without having start game again.

Leave as "true" when adjusting settings but once you have the result you want change it to false. This stops ENB settings being read every five seconds and can have an impact on performance.

Hope that helps. It did me.

Hey guys, this thread is going to be helpful. I just got a new pc and reinstalled GTA 4 but I'm not sure which patch to apply; on my old pc, I was running 1.0.7.0 with LCPDFR and ELS V6 with okay graphics, but now I'm looking into trying out the ENB mods. I only really play GTA now for LCPDFR so I need to use a gta patch and enb mod that work well together. I have read that the 0.82 ENB can damage your system? Is this true? Even if you don't use every bell and whistle? How can you monitor graphics card status?

I use LCPDFR and patch 1070.. enb series 0.082 and works very goood.. and your question with extraction extreact all FILES AND paste them in gta 4.exe

I was under the impression that to utilize the enb you need to run 1.0.4.0?

Thanks for any help guys!
