My RPH doesn't seem to be connected to GTA V. I've tried doing everything, but it doesn't work. Can someone help me please?

Make sure you installed RPH in your original GTA V installation directory. You shouldn't install it into a GTA V folder that you copied, renamed, or moved somewhere else.

Also, make sure that the GTA5.exe (app) isn't running as administrator. You can check this in the properties (compatibility tab).

I checked all of this and everything is normal, but my RPH is still stuck on Launching Game.
I don't know what else to do... 🥲

Can you please show me the two things you checked just to make sure there are no misunderstandings?

Send a screenshot of the GTA V folder where you installed RPH where I can see the list of files and the entire path to that folder (the "address bar" of Windows File Explorer basically).
And send a screenshot of the properties (compatibility tab) of the GTA5.exe.

Okay let's try the following:

  • open the commandline.txt file in your main GTA V folder (using a text editor like Notepad), remove all the text inside of it and replace it with
    -windowed
then save and close the file.
  • then launch regular GTA V using the Epic Games Launcher (it should be in windowed mode now), load story mode and wait until you're at the point where you can move your in-game character around
  • now use ALT+TAB to tab out of the game and launch RPH while GTA story mode is already running.

Wait a second. The properties you showed me here are not the properties of the correct file. You showed me the PlayGTAV.exe, not the GTA5.exe.
Please send a screenshot of the same properties page but for the GTA5.exe.

Okay, now let's try this:

  • add your entire GTA V folder to the exceptions (aka. exclusions) of your antivirus app
  • restart your computer
  • launch GTA V via Epic Games again (same as last time)
  • then launch the RagePluginHook.exe as administrator

This depends on which antivirus app you're using. Is it the default Windows Defender or something else like McAfee or Norton?
