LML Mod Loader Prevent to start the game

Featured Replies

HI,

I just try to use LML Mod loader but it does not work. Once i put all files in the root of the folder game wont start. Not any mod installed. I have it on steam version 1.0.2802.0. There is not any error or anything, just simply wont start..

Regards

Its very interesting. Im using dinput8.dll for localization and also OpenIV using it and it works perfectly. But as far as i see you using some version.dll. Not sure whay it does not work wiht you LML, but im also using your loader for RDR and itr works also ok. There must be some different for GTAV, not sure what. I only need to replace fonts in this matter, this is all i using lml for...

What happens if you only have version.dll and no vfs.dll? If it works fine, please put back vfs.dll and then after the game closed check Event Viewer (eventwr.exe) -> Windows Logs -> Application and see if you find any recent GTA 5 related entries.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

Without vfs.dll its same.. Does you loader also work with dinput8.dll somehow ?

any other asi mods works ok. When i remove version.dll game starts OK..

That's odd that it crashes with just version.dll. That file itself does not do a whole lot. Can you run it just with that and check the logs like I suggested?

So i did try everything with only vfs.dll or just with version.dll and vice versa. Always the same - game wont start..

Once i remove version.dll it starts, but i gues modloader is out of the question since there is proxy asi loader is in it i guess..

And one more finding, when i remove

EasyHookPatch.dll

game starts..

Log from EasyHookPatch when games wont start:

ok with only version.dll game starts and not anyting in eventwr..

Once i remove file EasyHookPatch.dll game starts and it seems also mod loader doing something...

also generates the log, but im not sure if its actually work, since im trying to replace fonts and that is not happening...

vfs.logModManager.log

And here is my mod... can you please try it ?

asset_replace.zip

Now it seems mod loader is kind of working but my mod is not. Not sure what is the cause, so i thing without that Hookpatch file mod loader actually does not work, idn rly ?

You don't necessarily need the EasyHookPatch file. All it does is fix an issue in EasyHook that happens when it is being used by LSPDFR. The log looks very dodgy. Where are you getting your EasyHook64.dll file from?

Normally from this website, from here

here again... freshly dowloaded from this website..

EasyHook.log

BTW i do have Windows 11.

So basically you saying LML works even without the EasyHookPatch.dll file ? If so, why my mod where im replacing fonts does not work then pls?

Yeah, something is terribly wrong with the pattern. Hard to say why. That being said, yes, you can use LML without it. The reason why it does not work for you is because you use a bad XML. First your tags are wrong and then the path is also wrong. Try something like this:

<EasyInstall>
    <Name>FONTS</Name>
    <Author>michalss</Author>
    <Version>2.0.5</Version>
    <Metadata>
    </Metadata>

    <Replacements>
        <Replacement name="Replace font map">
			<FileReplacement>
                <GamePath>update/x64/data/cdimages/scaleform_generic/font_lib_efigs.gfx</GamePath>
                <FilePath>asset_replace/font_lib_efigs.gfx</FilePath>
            </FileReplacement>
        </Replacement>
     </Replacements>
</EasyInstall>

OK. thx. it seems fonts get loaded(by log file) but they does not work. 😞 Very strange.. I never had any issue with LML for RDR2, but is getting to be real pain. Is there any reason why fonts would not work please ? With openIV fonts works ok, but with lml does not... 😞

If this method does not work, is there any tutorial or some help how to load custom rpf file please ? To modify update file each new version is really pain, so im looking for alternative way not to do every update a new version of localization mod. Im out of ideas, please help...

Here it is. With custom RPF, is there specific path where this file need to be, still in lml folder ? There is not really much details in example. Also is there any specific file struct needed inside RPF file, or can i just copy it from update.rpf ?

PM u with my whole setup, can you please test it ?

thx a lot
