LCPDFR - Now on GitHub

Thanks to some community efforts and continued interest in keeping LCPDFR alive, we are happy to announce that LCPDFR, the mod which started it all, is now on GitHub. If you ever wanted to see how things worked back in the IV days (or just trash-talk the work of a few 14-year-old kids writing code), you have come to the right place.

Please find the repo below: https://github.com/LMSDev/lcpdfr_public

Are you planning to accept pull requests, that add support for latest game version, and maybe release it on LCPDFR as "community update"?

Anyone is more than welcome to contribute, but I personally do not see myself to be involved much (at all). We plan to distribute binary releases on the site, similar to your "community update" I think, but that depends on whether people actually add things.

Nice!

I've always wondered, is there a reason as to why LSPDFR isn't open source? I've always thought that it would be pretty neat if the community could contribute code the core mod itself, though I also understand a few of the obvious reasons why it isn't.

I just don't think anyone of us is very keen on managing and reviewing a project as opposed to building what we are interested in. It comes down to fun at the end of the day, at least for me.

Ah I understand that completely, I tend to spend more time doing code reviews than actually writing code at work nowadays so I can sympathise with that. Great work with everything you and the rest of the team have done, you have given me close to a thousand hours of entertainment so thank you!

Has anyone else succesfully compiled this and loaded in on GTA IV 1.0.7.0? I'm having a few issues, and while I might be missing something obvious (hopefully not) I thought it would be worth posting here incase somebody else has attempted already. All details here: https://github.com/LMSDev/lcpdfr_public/issues/1
