Interaction suggestions

Featured Replies

First off, thanks to all who keep this project alive and updated!

For me this mod is all about roleplay or at least police work  as seen in movies and series from the 80s and 90s. Not a fan of chasing cars or shooting suspects.

Slow paced roleplay is the most immersive experience LSPDFR deserves.

Though there is a basic traffic stop feature to interact with driving peds there ain't one for parking cars. However, you can request records checks but can't write a ticket or towing if parked illegally. Already played it in 2015, so I know there was Traffic Policer by Albo supporting this. Definitely understand, LSPDFR is all about basic features to keep it easy and simple, especially when it comes to updates.

So, my suggestion as  a fan of roleplay would be to integrate a single notepad animation (already in when issue tickets to peds) within the interaction menu, e.g. calling this action "notepad" or "write a ticket". No further scripts needed to affect the car or the car's owner. Just a visible idle animation but without an auto stop. The player should be able to decide when it ends (unlike the "drinking coffee" animation). More animations/actions related to the police work would be appreciated.

Another suggestion is the police belt. There seems to be just two whithin the advanced clothes menu for custom chars. One with bags, baton and radio, but no holster and one with holster but no bags (no 152). For preset models it's all there tho.

Same with the upper police shirt (short sleeved). A long armed version or various colors and patches for LSSD would be sweet.

I know there is EUP but it would be great to have some more belts, shirts and hats in vanilla LSPDFR.

Again, many thanks for all your efforts!

Use EUP Menu to have more realistic police belt and clothing

The interaction is rather prefered to be done through compulite by bejoijo, although writing a ticket instead of using a PAD is things people do in 80s and 90s

great idea though, it would be even better if integrated in or compatible with stop the ped

Will check EUP someday. Already saw some great uniforms, even with taser and cuffs being visible on the belt.

Yes, writing/issuing  tickets to peds is already in. My suggestion is about illegally parked vehicles without any. You can check for the vehicle's owner. This feature gives a random name but that's it. And tho it would be awesome to check for the name  - to make a call what spawns a ped nearby after 5 or 10 minutes to pick up the car by itself - it is appreciated to just have the pad or "issue a ticket" animation available (which is much easier to implement  than scripting a ped coming around).

I like your Avatar of Ponch and Jon.  I was a fan of that Series (CHiPs).  Had an Uncle who was CHP around that time, passed away after retirement about 5 years ago sadly from a medical problem that came up unexpectedly.  His son, my cousin is current CHP.  Anyway, I can't remember every episode but I think I remember reading that in the series CHiPs, they never fired their guns.  Might have drawn them but never fired.  I do remember there was a lot of strong arm/wrestling the suspect to the ground.  That's what I kinda liked from that series.  Watched it as a kid so I always saw the "police" arresting the suspect instead of shooting/killing them, unlike what Hollywood does today.  Big fan of the X-Files in the 90's where there was a lot of shooting/killing.  CHiPs was just ones of those rare TV shows that dealt with suspects by bodily force, of course the suspects weren't too smart in my opinion 😄.  Just brought that up because there are some callouts for LSPDFR that doesn't require you to shoot to kill.  Sometimes you just have to show up to defuse the situation.  I like that.  Just depends on what callouts you install.  I'm also not a fan of having to shoot people every callout.  I actually would like to see more dead or vicious animal callouts.  Where you have to call out Animal Control to deal with an animal.  Even in the city it could be a vicious dog or dead cat in the street.  For me, not every callout has to be shoot to kill.

When I occasionally watch Jeff, Buggs, Dave, Ryan, ect who play FivePD, I see them use animations that are cool or funny.  I think some of those animations you can get through simple trainer but it's not clear which are which.  That seems like a simple thing to input in the game but I don't develop mods or plugins so what do i know 😀.  Same thing with the parking tickets you mentioned.  Computer+ has a tablet that you can bring up when on foot.  Not sure if something like that could come up when writing a parking ticket.  Another thing I miss with Albo's Traffic Policer is the court updates.  After you arrest/ticket someone then you can check the court system to see what they were sentenced for or fined for.  STP has that but only for their callouts.  Something that would work for all callouts from any Author you install would be neat.

Thanks for the feedback and background info, sad to hear about your loss. Grew up with that series. Its chars and stories were really fun to watch. Crime wasn't depicted too violent and the entire treatment of it came up with a moral. Always liked the patrol's uniforms and setting of sunny california.

Will check Computer+. Already used scenarios with the simple trainer since script hook v got updated. Unfortunately there is no shortcuts just the menu to scroll through.

For the parking ticket functions/interactions I definitely recommend BasicParkingEnforcement .

Does BPE still work for many though, I wonder? It's not seen an update since- ever. But I agree with many points here, while chasing and shooting CAN be fun, more of the slower paced Roleplay scenarios are a lot of fun. It's part of why I also use the police tape mod, and enjoying some of the longer, more detailed callouts when it comes to say, homicide and such, using immersive dispatch plugin, and ambient AI police response plugin...when it works.

"Stop or I'll shoot! I mean, I'll probably shoot anyway, but that's not the point!"

BPE works fine, even without StopThePed. Just needs an updated RageNativeUi.

Speaking of slower paced rp, it's recommended to change the vehicle spawn value for each service within StopThePed.ini (default is 100). This way you can have a smoke or sit down/enjoy scenarios while playing waiting for. Btw, requesting the insurance company can be seen as "calling the owner to come around and take care of the vehicle before towing". Amazing feature!

I'd love to have callouts which are quests seen in L.A. Noir. Where you need to drive around and just ask suspects or look for evidence, write  a protocol to put things together one by one.
