I was getting the "not enough permissions" error, now getting game out of memory error. But when I click on "ok" it says "collecting game files" and thats it, I left it like that and came back over an hour later and it was still "collecting game files".

This is a clean install of everything, GTA, LSPDFR, my permissions problem I solved with the rage faq, the game worked for a couple of plays but now it is "game out of memory error" all the time followed by "collecting game files". Because it freezes it can not generate a log file so I can not post that.

I have to close it with task manager so i can use the computer for other things.

I have disabled nvidia overlay, turned off antivirus, have rage set to 60000, tried the different dx levels in rage, tried admin mode, re-installed LSPDFR manually and with setup exe, all drivers up to date, windows up to date, have tried starting gta then rage with and without scripthookv nothing else installed, no mods, no game configs, no asi files, no scripts.

ARGHHHH.....

Please suggest something if you can. Even the FAQ's are not helping now and google aint much better.

Install a custom gameconfig, the heap adjuster & the packfile limit adjuster.

 

I guess you have some modded cars or graphic mods installed?

i have, gtav and lspdfr and that is it, as i mentioned previously, it is all a clean install.

Few things:  Can you get into Grand Theft Auto V in Story Mode? Reason I ask this, some people have issues with their save files on the story mode location in game.

 

Do you have any text in the commandlines.txt   file in your GTA V main game directory?    For example if you have -ignoreDifferentVideoCard  you will want to delete that.  But I am thinking you might not have that in there. But if it is, delete it out and save.

Second thing:  You might try and go to your Nvidia Control panel > 3D Settings > and might try looking for Grand Theft Auto V in programs and see if you can see Shaders Cache and turn it off.  I was unsuccessful locating mine as I only have the 1080 SC GPU.   Might try turning off the Shader Cache in Global settings and see if that helps.  

You might need to wait until the update drops for LSPDFR / RageHook though.  Shouldn't need SHV techincally since you have a fresh install and just trying to get into the game, so LSPDFR/RH should drop soon with the new update.

You may not have installed gameconfig, Packfile Limit Adjuster and Heap Limit Adjuster. Also reinstall the latest version of DirectX and scripthook
