GTA IV LCPD:FR Advice

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I'm new to this forum as I've heard about LCPD:FR and it looks amazing! Just got someone I know to build me a computer which is up to spec so that I can run it. Obviously I need to download the actual LCPD:FR mod and install it before I can do anything else, but can people suggest other mods to add to it such as what the car lighting system mod is and how to get new designed police cars please? Not sure if this is in the right section, new here!

Hope you can help!

Hi there,

Welcome to the forums.

If you would like to enhance your LCPD:FR experience I'd definitely recommend using Braveheart's Policing Script as it adds a whole new array of features to LCPD:FR, such as new call-outs. ELS (Emergency Lighting System) is a simple drag and drop into your GTA IV main folder however you will have to have ELS enabled models (which there are plenty of) for the lights to work. Have a browse through the downloads section and I'm sure you'll find some stuff you'll like.

As for installing all this stuff you can either do a Google Search or just use the search option on the forums to find what you are looking for.

Hope this helps.

Thanks very much. Just a quick question, you know people open up that menu in game with loads of stuff on it, such as changing the day setting, spawning vehicles and weapons, does that come with LCPD:FR when you download it or is it an add on?

That is add-on is called a trainer, you can get it here.

However before you start all this modding, remember to update your game to the latest version and make backups of the game! You never know when you might accidently mess something up and have to reinstall the game because you forgot to make backups.

Thanks very much for this link. I take it if I add Police Vehicle skins I can spawn them from the options menu thing that you just sent me the link to? Also, is there a specific Police Vehicle pack/car that you could recommend?

Cheers!

No problem, and yes you can. I couldn't recommend any packs myself as I use different car models with custom skins on them. Really it's up to you and your taste on what cars you want to go with. I noticed you are from Manchester so perhaps you'd like to roll with

But as I said before, it's just personal taste. Just have a browse through the downloads section and see what you like.

Wow great! Thanks for all your help. And just finally, if I like a few different vehicles and want to change between English and LCPD for example, do I need to keep swapping the files or is it possible to just flick between the two?

There is no-way of flicking between the two without swapping them out however what you could do is have multiple game directories. Just copy the GTA IV folder to another location (or the same) and rename it to something else. For example, you could have "GTA IV - British Cars" and "GTA IV - LCPD Cars" both in the Rockstar Games folder and you can just load up which one you want to play with. I myself have done this and have about 6 different game directories.

That's a very good idea, I will do that. Final question actually, I promise! Keep thinking of things I mean to ask, the ELS you get with police cars. Do you have to set up a lighting pattern for the cars or do they do it themself?

Haha that's okay, we were all new once so ask away. Some cars may have a pre-set flash pattern but most won't, ELS gives you the option to change the flash pattern out of a bunch of pre-set patterns. You can do this by pressing "Alt+M" and then using the "U" and "I" keys to change the primary (main lightbar, other lights) and secondary (traffic advisor) flash patterns.

Alright thanks a lot. I think that Is everything, no doubt I will have some more questions soon though! Thanks very much!

No problem, if you have any problems with installing or if you experience crashing issues don't hesitate to make a topic (but make sure you've searched it first so there are no duplicate topics) or send me a private message. Myself or the other members will be happy to help.

Have fun.
