4K is 100% not essential and not even properly displayable. 

 

I recommend keeping your vehicles .ytd below 12MB.

    How do I lower the textures, do I just half resolution and keep mipmaps the same?

    Extract them as a .png (sort by size) and use f.ex Paint to scale them to a lower resolution.
