How to install a skin pack?

Featured Replies

I downloaded this skin pack to replace Sheriff cruisers: https://www.lcpdfr.com/downloads/gta5mods/vehiclestextures/34285-blaine-county-sheriff-skin-pack-4k/

The installation seems very simple, I just need to: "

Spoiler

Installation: Drop the PNG files into the vehicles YTD file using OpenIV

But for a newbie like me, I have no idea where the Vehicles YTD file is!

I just want to replace the standard Sheriff cruiser skins with the one above, so that the AI can drive them too.

Any assistance would be great. Thanks!

ALL MODELS CAN BE FOUND IN THESE PACKS BY RIPPLE:

These are merely suggestions, as most skins will work with pretty much all models of the same year, make, and model.

If you don't have any installed cars on you, better install them first. Choose any pack that I attached, and install cars to the game.

Ah damn, I can't believe I missed this step.

So I installed the top pack (LCSO Liberty Pack), I then went into OpenIV and pasted the texture "tahoe_sign_1.png" (from Blaine County Sheriff texture pack) into sheriff_2.ytd, however the hood of the car has a bugged texture, as shown in the screenshot.

Could you please help me fix it? I understand this is super simple but I've not modded vehicles much so I'm a bit lost when it comes to it. I'm guessing each .png only works for a specific vehicle, but it doesn't say which ones.

And then secondly, I have changed the first sheriff car, but not sure which of the .png to put in the .ytd file since the Blaine County Sheriff texture pack has real car names like 20Tahoe, 11CVPI (so not sure which of these .png files to paste into the .ytd).

Many thanks!

Hey!

Probably at that sheriff2 you installed wrong texture. Make sure you install on the correct car - the correct one texture.
Make sure you didn't install for the Tahoe 2014 - 2018 texture, for example.

Here is the list of conformity:

18 Charger - 2018 Dodge Charger (police2)

14 Charger - 2014 Dodge Charger (police4)

16 FPIU - 2014 Ford Explorer (policeold1) - Not sure about that, but should work.

16 FPIS - 2012 Chevy Caprice (sheriff)

20 Tahoe - 2020 Chevy Tahoe (fbi2)

11 CVPI - 2011 Ford Crown Victoria (police)

Yeah that's exactly what I meant, thanks man. Not sure which .png to install for Sheriff 2, though?

Seems like png for sheriff2 doesn't exist for now.

Ah nevermind. Thanks anyway, you've helped me understand.
