ELS/ VCF

Featured Replies

This may be quickly shot down but gotta ask. Can I use a VCF from a 2021 model that obviously is ELS because I have the VCF file, can I use that VCF file on another 2021 ELS model?

I have a 2021 that has a decent light setup but there is another 2021 that has more "Lights". I am going to try it tonight whats the worst that can happen....

Using a different VCF is normally used to change these:
Light Stage Activation Type
Color of the environmental lighting, for example of this, if you have a VCF set to all blue the lighting on the walls around you would be all blue regardless of the model
What extras ELS controls (usually untouched)
Use of Takedown and Alley lighting
Arrowboard use (usually left disabled since arrowboards aren't common)
What audio is used for your different sirens
What patterns are used by default

Usually changing a VCF won't do much if anything at all so I wouldn't expect too much but there may be some differences. Usually it isn't too important unless a vehicle is meant to have a specific flash pattern
