First time installation - help needed

Hi there!

New user here, so I apologize if this isn't the place to report this.

I Installed latest LCPDFR and Rage plugin today to work with GTA5 on my Lenovo laptop.  Followed the instructions as best as possible, and have everything as it says on the Verify Installation section of the Installation Page.  Tried to load GTA5 with the Rage plugin and LCPDFR doesn't load.

The end of the log file says:

[12/26/2020 10:29:49 PM.900] Loading plugin from path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\Plugins\LSPD First Response.dll

[12/26/2020 10:29:52 PM.415] ERROR: Could not load plugin from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\Plugins\LSPD First Response.dll". Could not load file or assembly 'LSPD First Response, Version=0.4.7659.32941, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

The problem is that the file is clearly in the GTA5>Plugins folder.

Has anyone encountered this issue before?  Any ideas?  I do have Norton360 running but it doesn't seem to interfere.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Ok so GTA5 was already in Defender, but I added Rage...

Then I went into Norton and changed GTA5 from Auto to Allow and then added Rage plugin...

Then I went to Antivirus>Data Protector>Process Exclusions and added GTA5 and Rage Plugin...

This still give me the same error - the LSPD First Response.dll is not found...  if you have any other ideas, please let me know!

Thanks!

Is that just the GTAV.exe file that you made an exception or was it the whole of the GTAV folder?

Hi Charlie - All of the rules I can create in Defender and in Norton make you pick an .exe file, not an entire folder.

Do you have an example of how I can do that in Defender and Norton?  I think both of them work together on the firewall stuff.

Thanks!

You'll want to make an exception for Virus and Threat detection - not your firewall.

So it looks like I had to do that in Norton - thanks for the redirect to antivirus vs. firewall!

Is this what I was supposed to do?

Then I added the whole GTA5 folder...

I assume after a reboot this should work?  Do I still have to do anything with Defender?  I didn't have the options shown in that handy link you sent.

Thanks!

I'm having the same issues. I tried everything suggested in here, I also use Norton and tried the last step. Did you ever get the plugin to load?

I suggest making your own thread so someone can assist 🙂
